As the oldest baby boomers turn 80, overall housing demand growth is slowing. Why? Rising mortality and disability among boomers are driving the loss of older households, outweighing the gains from new household formation, writes @dmccue.bsky.social. www.jchs.harvard.edu/blog/baby-bo...

Public housing policy has long been shaped by myths and distrust, but RAD shows what can happen when systems change. When it comes to formal evictions, RAD does not push tenants out of their affordable housing. This finding doesn’t settle all concerns, but it does clarify an important piece.

With the Hormuz crisis reaching into nearly every aspect of life & inflation surging, many have wondered why our economy hasn't sunk. The answer is we're running a federal deficit that's equal to Biden's 2021 stimulus, & more than 2x the Obama 2009 stimulus. Even horribly untargeted stimulus works.

Requiring collective action by often low resource households and absent investors who both view themselves as independent owners, a distressed condo is one of the most difficult challenges in housing policy.

This article is good on how we can encourage condos but glosses over very real problems older and low income condos face in the US from lack of maintenance, investors milking units, and loss of equity.
