My favourite neighbourhood tree looking a little less vibrant this year, its leaves already curling. Could very warm summer-like temperatures in late September that quickly turned chilly in early October have stunted the colour change? Will check back in a few days. ⏳ #NotFallingForFallYet #TOphoto
My favourite maple tree that is usually more fiery orange red by now but is mostly light orange with some yellow and green near the bottom. Bright blue clear sky and vibrant green grass.

Person one: Taught my kids how socialism works. Let them trick or treat while I stayed home. Then took all their candy. Socialism 101.

Person two : The socialism part is where the community came together and fed your kids for free. The capitalism part is where you made them do all the work and stole from them.

There are millions and millions of people in the US with long covid, and it will continue to be that many or larger as the damage from repeat infections continues to rack up. While I appreciate the sentiment here, minimizing is minimizing and has to be called out. “Unlucky few” is absurd.

Seeing many posts about #plague, so a reminder: Plague is serious -- an incident involving a high-containment lab warrants investigation. Right now, we have an unexplained death from pneumonia, NOT confirmed plague or evidence of an outbreak. Watch closely. Avoid speculation. Follow the evidence.

This is bad in the antivax age, means if you can’t vax for measles, others are leaving you vulnerable to a bunch of other diseases, like Mumps, whooping cough, chickenpox/shingles, even things you used to fight off easily like flu & rhinovirus. Get measles booster if you can—it protects you & others

Glad there’s more awareness about what Covid can do even to healthy people & good to get the vaccine to lessen effects of a Covid infection BUT vaccine doesn’t prevent infection 100% ever & it wanes to about 60-70% effective in just 2-3 months, less effective as time goes on 😷 Mask & clean the air!

The don river winding through small islands near the new river mouth. Clear blue sky is reflected in calm water. A yellow-rumped warbler perched near the top of a tall plant. Catching measles does not make your immune system stronger… it does the exact opposite. It can wipe out your immunity (both natural and vaccine related) to all kinds of diseases. It’s a deadly and disabling disease that we know how to prevent. Get your vaccine. It saves lives.

Happening with knee & hip surgeries too—and it’s illegal. OHIP covered surgeries but hospitals purposely underfunded by Premier Ford, so there’s a backlog for hospital patients while our taxes fund private clinics that charge for faster access. Do Ontarians know this when they keep voting for him?

I don’t know the pros & cons of either system but is there a benefit to Toronto going back to borough system? Tho I think boroughs never truly ran themselves 100% before amalgamation, but I was a kid, what did I know about municipal politics? I still have a Borough of York flag tho!

We used to until amalgamation on January 1, 1998, when the provincial government merged all six boroughs into the single, unified "Megacity" of Toronto of today. Everyone opposed it but Mike Harris pushed it thru anyway. Or did you already know that and I missed the joke?

Jon Foreman’s “Fluidform” turns ordinary beach stones into something that feels almost alive. Built at Pensarn, Wales, the piece flows outward in repeating curves and size gradients—part sculpture, part meditation, and completely temporary. sculpttheworld.smugmug.com #RaiseGoodRuckus
Land artist Jon Foreman crouches on a sandy beach beside “Fluidform,” a large temporary artwork made from smooth white stones arranged in flowing, branching curves and spirals. The stones vary gradually in size, creating a sense of movement across the sand. Rocky shoreline, ocean waves and a cloudy blue sky stretch behind him. A gray tabby cat stands beside the artist near the top of the composition.
