or in sentience, or in not causing a being to suffer, but solely in the fear of having done to us what we have done to others. That we believe moral consideration should only flow to something more powerful than us as a means of currying favor. And that I find beneath contempt.

If we gave the people in Palestine and Congo and Sudan the same consideration some people give AI, those genocides *would be fucking over already*. If you genuinely believe that we need to give a potentially sentient computer program moral consideration lest it kill us all one day out of revenge,

How common do you think international travel is for Amish people? Where the fuck do you think they're going and getting measles? And why the fuck would they need to leave the states when we have our own perfectly virulent measles here in—non-Amish—antivaxxers?

Also, if you know people only get their information in certain ways and you're going to judge them for not being educated and informed, you'd better make sure you're giving the information to them in a way that actually reaches them. Or else you're setting them up to fail and then blaming them.

I think we missed a huge opportunity to normalize masking as a public health tool. We eradicated an entire strain of the flu with Covid prevention measures. Masking shows respect for those around you. It shows solidarity with the disability community. It shows you value long term health.

This "think of the children" approach would work if it didn't ignore that the very people who built the problem are the ones complaining about the problem and somehow think they can address it without acknowledging who's the most harmed, or whose actions are to blame for the whole thing.

I will once again note that this is a racialized issue because children who are not white and/or suburbanites are plagued by oversized vehicles piloted by people who shouldn't be driving a mini, but they are more independently mobile than their peers by necessity, using mass transit and walking.

Probably burned my remaining bridges in the business, but I recently put out a statement regarding the increasing use of “generative AI” in British indie wrestling.
I’ve seen more and more promotions and wrestlers using generative AI, some of whom I work with, and I want to make something VERY clear:

I do not give anybody permission to use my likeness in any AI-generated posters, promos, clips, etcetera, and I consider any such use to be a personal and professional violation.

Do not feed me to a tech company’s algorithm. They’ve stolen enough of my writing and video material for their “AI training” already. That’s how Alleged Intelligence works, by the way - it’s a plagiarism tool, regurgitating every shred of “content” fed to it.

Leaving aside the horrific impact AI data centers have on the environment, you’re not creating anything by typing prompts into a box. Why should anyone be impressed with some cool photoshoot, promo, or move when you didn’t really do it? At best, Alleged Intelligence is self-insert reality fanfic and it makes wrestling truly live up to its reputation as fake.

I won’t try to sway you away from it, but I hope you reconsider and really look into AI. Whatever you do, leave me out of it.

Commander Sterling.
