It is terrible to have eligibility based upon availability of other coverage. What if the employer plan is awful and covers nothing?

C-5 had no study because of the urgency. A year later the government has identified 0 projects of national interest. They use urgency to avoid debate.

"One of the biggest business tax policy changes in half a century" as per the Director of Policy to the Minister of Finance. www.canada.ca/en/departmen... I guess we're getting so much cash from higher oil prices that we don't need the extra revenues? Cuz we have no pressing needs in housing/care.

Government of Canada introduces new Productivity Mega Deduction to boost Canada’s advantage as the most competitive G7 country for new business investment - Canada.ca
To boost business investment, enhance certainty and simplicity for businesses, and strengthen Canada’s tax competitiveness, the Government of Canada proposes to implement the Productivity Mega Deduction, which will provide immediate expensing for a broad-based range of depreciable property on a permanent basis. Immediate expensing allows taxpayers to fully write off the cost of an investment in the year that it becomes available for use. This powerful investment incentive will create the conditions for an extended period of higher investment—a Canadian investment supercycle.

So, once again, rest of the world, what is the value of a "deal" if the White House decides it has a feeling and invokes 338 on items, regardless of trade agreements? Canada is again being used as the test case.

Why is it so important to me that Canadians understand how little the incomes of the rich were taxed in 🇨🇦 in the 1950s and 1960s? Much less than in the U.S. 🇨🇦 did not tax capital gains until 1972. The top marginal rate was high, yes, but easily avoided. Why do I want ppl to know this? 1/5

Why would I say it is an odd renaming? Aside from the fact that CGEB isn't a great acronym, we don't charge GST on most groceries. I looked at my receipt from shopping last week - spent $172 at the grocery store, HST was applied to only $42.
