Probably all cleared up by now, but: a dog did their business right in the middle of the Salter crosswalk across Hollis, stalling vehicle traffic. A powerful statement. I was able to roll on by in the unaffected #BikeHfx portion.

We have acquired unspeakable powers. Come join us in putting them to good use Sunday! hfx.bike/party

@seebo429.bsky.social when I was getting set up to film the ride at the diverter an older couple came through and were talking about a bag that had been there but was gone. They said it had "sometimes I get carried away" written on it, and that it must have been! Sounded like something you would do.

We're having a party! On Sep 20 (rain date 27th) we're throwing a Vincent Street block party, between Devonshire and Young. #KidicalMassHfx + #BikeHfx folks might know this as a starting place for the waterfront ride. Everyone welcome! If you are inclined we could use volunteers, like for BBQ

My espresso machine is broken so I’ve been doing my #BikeHfx peninsula loop a bit earlier to get my morning coffee somewhere. Set out even earlier today hoping I’d see even more cycling activity. I was not disappointed!

For some reason there are newly-planted trees on Bayers Rd just east of the rail bridge. What. (there should be an extension of the MUP there to either a MUP to replace the bridge sidewalk or a new AT bridge)
The view from the sidewalk on Bayers Rd / Bi-Hi heading east. The sidewalk curves around. Just ahead to the right of it there are two new trees.

Nice to see this going in to make it easier for folks walking and rolling to get into the Almon Shoppers parking lot. The whole Richmond Yards area needs more pedestrian friendly changes, such as a mid block crossing for Shoppers.

Scary stuff in Halifax Monday morning. We were caught up in the vehicle traffic impacts as we had set out just before 10 in a carshare to, ironically, pick up bikes for our trip to Keji. Glad everyone ended up okay.

Nice that knotweed and such were trimmed along the older part of the Barrington greenway, keeping it from going beyond the fence and into the path. But some tree branches that required ducking were missed. Fixed! Also did some trimming touchups on the #BikeHfx Devonshire lanes, especially NB

@kwilsonhfx.bsky.social in your bike lane/etc costing stuff have you come across anything that indicates spending a bit more for upfront better cycling infra saves on recap cost over the long term? Thinking about less asphalt to repave and such.

I am just realizing there’s no Hydrostone stage for Halifax Jazz Festival this year. Bummer, always seemed like a big draw. Can’t help but wonder if it’s a victim of provincial/city budget cuts.
