Yeah but don't buy the MAGA tables from Uline, find somewhere else to get them from. Hopefully they have fixed the thing where the edges peel up and get poky on your forearms if you rest your hands or wrists on the table.

I don’t think 7 foot ceiling is a safety issue. It seems unpleasant at worst. If anything the reduced air volume mitigates insufficient ventilation capacity. Electrical, plumbing, and ventilation (indoor air quality issue)? Oh yeah regulate it.

Thousands of duplex, triplex, fourplex, & cottage homes have been built in Oregon since its 2019 statewide upzone - but they’re unevenly distributed. Let's dive into two things: 1. What we can learn from the places it's working 2. Why @govtinakotek.bsky.social's follow-up bill would help

If true ground floor units have privacy and security issues, why don’t duplex downs also? Those units need to have windows AT ground level, and I assume they can’t have bars because they need to be egress windows.

In this moment, with so many of our institutions - economic, social, educational - being actively undermined, when I think of what my role as a historian is, my mind goes to my favorite passage from The Lord of the Rings. For I also am a steward. Did you not know?
A screenshot of text from The Return of the King, with the following passage undermined (Gandalf speaking), "And for my part, I shall not wholly fail of my task, though Gondor should perish, if anything passes through this night that can still grow fair or bear fruit and flower again in the days to come. For I also am a steward. Did you not know?"

I have been considering treasury bonds a good hedge for the current chaos, based on my inflation expectations, but I just had a horrible thought. It would be totally in character for Trump to start talking about defaulting on the debt out of the blue.

The National Science Foundation, for one, is trying to reinstate 84 employees it fired as part of OPM's directive. One of those 84 people told HuffPost on Monday that he and several of his colleagues learned they were getting their jobs back not from NSF but from other co-workers and via the press.

"What a joke, fuding out from colleagues and online — and not directly," said the employee, who requested anonymity so he doesn't get fired again.

Elon, I hate to break it to you but you aren’t my boss. I answer to the people of Minnesota. But since you bring it up, I spent last week fighting to stop tax breaks for billionaires like you, paid for by defunding health care for moms and babies
Senator Tina Smith said: This is the ultimate dick boss move from Musk - except he isn’t even the boss, he’s just a dick.

That was in response to Musk saying “Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump's instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”

Musk responded @SenTinaSmith “What did you get done last week?”
