This starting point has me thinking: inequalities, proof, written and verbal communication could all be explored. I haven't tried it with a class yet but I was surprised how much there is to consider. If a<b<ab then what can we say about a & b? If a<ab<b? If ab<a<b? #ALevelMaths

You don't have to be an activist or an expert on trans issues to know that exclusion doesn't speak for you. More than 110,000 women have already signed our letter because they want another voice to be heard: one of fairness, compassion and solidarity with the trans+ community. notinourname.org.uk

Lookie here, the UK legal definition of terrorism! I'd say this falls under 1b, 1c, 2c, 2d. Again, this is the same definition used to proscribe Palestine Action.
Terrorism: interpretation.
(1)In this Act “terrorism” means the use or threat of action where—

(a)the action falls within subsection (2),

(b)the use or threat is designed to influence the government [F1or an international governmental organisation] or to intimidate the public or a section of the public, and

(c)the use or threat is made for the purpose of advancing a political, religious [F2, racial] or ideological cause.

(2)Action falls within this subsection if it—

(a)involves serious violence against a person,

(b)involves serious damage to property,

(c)endangers a person’s life, other than that of the person committing the action,

(d)creates a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public, or

(e)is designed seriously to interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system.

(3)The use or threat of action falling within subsection (2) which involves the use of firearms or explosives is terrorism whether or not subsection (1)(b) is satisfied.

(4)In this section—

(a)“action” includes action outside the United Kingdom,

(b)a reference to any person or to property is a reference to any person, or to property, wherever situated,

(c)a reference to the public includes a reference to the public of a country other than the United Kingdom, and

(d)“the government” means the government of the United Kingdom, of a Part of the United Kingdom or of a country other than the United Kingdom.

(5)In this Act a reference to action taken for the purposes of terrorism includes a reference to action taken for the benefit of a proscribed organisation

"Two tier policing" is not a real thing. It was invented by the far-right to justify the claim that police treat white people more harshly than racialised communities. Just because you'd really like it to mean something else, doesn't suddenly make it helpful.

I outline some of the reasons why in that linked thread, but it essentially boils down to this line in CONTEST 2009, the UK flagship counterterrorism strategy. "What kind of country we want for ourselves" UK counterterrorism strategy is, and has always been, a nation-building project.
We want to make it harder for violent extremists to operate in our country and win support for their activities and ideologies. But we also need to be clear about the kind of country which we want for ourselves.

Contrast the police statements about the Dover blockade yesterday with the Just Stop Oil protests in 2022
No arrests made during Dover protest, Kent Police says

13:34 5 September
Kent Police has issued a statement following the disruption in Dover earlier today.
It says officers "responded to a spontaneous protest" during Saturday morning, adding "no arrests were made".
"Traffic is flowing normally, and all involved had dispersed by midday," it addsThe Met Police said 35 people had been arrested in response to the disruption.
Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist said the action was "criminality", not protest, and pledged to bring those involved to justice as quickly as possible.
"This was a very significant and co-ordinated effort to cause massive disruption to the entirety of the M25," he added.

Damning silence from Labour on their Napoleon III exhumation policy
Tom Harwood tweets:

BREAK: Nigel Farage says under a Reform government the body of Napoleon III could be returned from England to France.
The last French emperor's final resting place is in The Imperial Crypt at St Michael's Abbey in Farnborough.
He died in exile in England in 1873 following the fall of the Second Empire. His body was never returned to France because they didn't want it, and due to his wife's wishes. She was later buried alongside him.

With the increasing rise in transphobia and trans antagonism, it can be hard to know whether a therapist practices in a way that respects and affirms your identity and experience. That’s why TACTT have developed a new trans affirming therapist checklist!
A set of prompts and questions for anyone looking to understand if their therapist is trans-affirming. The image is in two columns - red flags and green flags. The resource is created by “therapists against conversion therapy and transphobia” and at the bottom is the TACTT website: www.therapistsagainsttransphobia.org.

The image text reads: Heading: Is my therapist Trans Affirming?
