Em, we disagree. There is a quick fix, and its called a bike 😁🚲 And yes, we know, not everyone can cycle. Not everyone wants to cycle. And that is grand. But by making it safe and enabling more people to cycle, it gives people another option, with proven results. meathlive.net/2025/11/12/n...

More ambition needed: Schools and greenways should be linked in plan for Slane, says group
A local campaign group is seeking for Meath County Council to be more "ambitious in its plans for the future Slane Public Realm plan." After the news this week that the Slane bypass was granted planning permission, the Navan Cycling Initiative said it is now calling on Meath County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to improve the proposed plans for the Public Realm in Slane Village.

The media loves a cyclist outrage story, but it’s just a distraction. The real issue? A transport system that puts cars first, and people last. Clean air, better health, safer streets, and stronger communities—active travel is a wonder drug. Let’s stop demonising it and start prescribing it.
