I've been using Fluxer (mainly the Fluxfur instance) a lot recently, and it feels competent enough where I could genuinely use this as a replacement for Discord (it also feels a lot better than Stoat). I am very looking forward to when Discord is no longer the main community chat platform.

fluxer is absolutely not vibe coded, the project has been in progress for longer than ChatGPT has even existed, not to mention how well it functions!! definitely give it a try if you're looking into discord alternatives, i'd say it's by far the most complete alternative, and it's open source!

I have already created my Fluxfur and all, and I also gots an account on the main Fluxer... the only thing that has stopped me from getting onto Fluxfur itself is the lack of support for "custom instances" on the Fluxer app (or a decent third party app) >W<

It's one of the alternatives I've been looking at for the community I work in. I think the big thing for us though is that we rely on or are involved with other community servers who are heavily rooted with Discord. If it's worth it, I could see them switching. Anything to drop Discord for good.

Happy #StarTrekDay! Here's to Star Trek: Lower Decks, the show that turned me from a casual Trek viewer into a full on Trekkie. I love vintage things, so I wanted to make a tribute in the style of retro comics, it's the 60th anniversary after all! #StarTrekLowerDecks #lowerdecks #StarTrek

A drawing of the main characters of the show Star Trek: Lower decks in the style of 1960's paper print comics. It looks slightly aged due to the paper texture. From left to right: Lieutenant Junior Grades Beckett Mariner, Brad Boimler, Sam Rutherford, D'Vana Tendi and T'lyn. They have sort of formed a human train walking down the corridor of the USS Cerritos.
Mariner is closest to the camera, she is pulling Boimler by his arm, which is over her shoulder and smiling, looking back at her friends. Right behind her is Boimler, his right arm over Mariner's shoulder as he's being dragged forward by her. He's looking behind his shoulder and grinning widely as he shouts some thing at Rutherford, Tendi and T'Lyn. Next in line iis Rutherford, who's smiling widely and has a hand on Boimler's shoulder. His left arm is linked with Tendi's right, who is linking her other arm with T'Lyn's and dragging her along. Tendi looks cheery and shouts back at Boimler. At the end of the conga line is T'Lyn, who is being dragged along by T'Lyn. Her expression says she's not against it. T'Lyn is holding a PADD in her left hand, suggesting she was mid work when this impromptu human train formed. They are walking past a large window, and through the glass you can see the passing nebula.
