The BC government has announced planning is underway for the Indigenous-Led Conservation Area previously declared for the Raush Valley. Protecting much of this old-growth inland rainforest from road-building and logging. It's long been on my radar. So, good news on this day.

I hiked up to Broken Top Mountain and No Name Lake today. The hike I wanted to do was about 5.6 miles but the road to that start was closed. I ended up hiking 14 miles rated as hard. I’ll be in pain tomorrow!

#Fungi #MushroomMonday October 2024. This mushroom was growing out of the side of a well rotted log.

A pale yellow mushroom. The cap is slightly inverted, the backlit gills are fully displayed. The stipe is a dark amber colour. Sphagnum moss and linaria add bright green to foreground. In the background are dark green conifer needles.

Forgotten light...
