Wow. Was reading comments on someone's Facebook post of their landscape photo. Someone called it a "Snapshot. Or I Was There photo." Pissed me off. You're trying to convey the beauty of a scene; there's always an element of "I was there". You want to make the viewer feel like they are there too.

I can't say how glad I was to reach Upper Timpanogos Falls on my way down from Roberts Horn. Although I'd drunk 3 litres of water on the hike, I was still dehydrated and all of the streams further up the canyon were dry. Such a relief! Also, they are beautiful. #photography #landscape #utah #hiking

The glaciers that formed this landscape are gone, but not entirely. The rock glacier below the summit of Mt Timpanogos was recently studied by geophysicists from University of Utah: a significant body of ice lies below those rocks. #photography #landscape #glacier #geology #hiking #utah

Most of the hike to Deseret Peak is in this peaceful valley. It's not until gaining the saddle that it feels like you are climbing a mountain. But you gain a lot of elevation in the valley. It's a great hike. Would love to come back when the wildflowers are in bloom. #photography #landscape #utah
