As I say here, there is no scientific justification to revoke the engagement finding. In fact, over the last 15+ yrs, the evidence of how climate change affects our health has only grown. Higher risk of allergies, dementia, fertility, heart disease, and death: that’s what’s on the line. @nature.org

There is No Scientific Justification to Revoke the Endangerment Finding
The U.S. EPA's decision to repeal the Endangerment Finding will limit the government's ability to regulate emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.

Reject overbroad IODA obscenity act, protect free speech and LGBTQ+ rights
Text SIGN PQPNNP to 50409 — The Interstate Obscenity Definition Act (IODA) from Senator Mike Lee represents a severe threat to free speech and LGBTQ+ rights in the United States. By redefining obscenity in an overly broad manner, this legislation could criminalize any depiction or discussion of sexual activity, undermining artistic expression and access to vital information about sexuality and gender. Furthermore, the IODA aligns disturbingly with the discriminatory goals outlined in the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 policy blueprint, which explicitly seeks to outlaw "the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology" under the guise of combating pornography. Enabling such blatant transphobia through legislation is utterly unacceptable. This misguided bill poses a grave danger to the LGBTQ+ community as well as anyone seeking to engage in legal free expression regarding human sexuality. Congress must firmly reject the IODA and any effort to enshrine bigotry into law under false pretenses. Protecting marginalized groups and upholding fundamental rights must take precedence over the discriminatory agenda fueling this damaging proposal.

Do you want a big overview of NSF, explaining things like the fact that 24% of all federally funded academic fundamental research comes from NSF? And that 94% of its budget goes out the door in grants/awards? Here you go. nsf-gov-resources.nsf.gov/files/Factsh...
An “NSF BY THE NUMBERS” fact sheet screenshot with some facts about “ADVANCING SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING RESEARCH IN THE U.S. AND ABROAD”

-The U.S. National Science Foundation was created by Congress in_ 1950 to continue the U.S. science and technology enterprise began during World War II.
-NSF allocates 94% of its approximately $8.5 billion budget for grants and awards to support research projects, facilities and STEM education.
-NSF funds research in all 50 states and U.S. territories.
-NSF fosters international scientific collaboration on all 7 continents around the globe.
-About 2,000 academic and other private and public institutions across the U.S. conduct NSF-funded research.
-NSF supports 24% of all federally funded academic fundamental research at U.S. colleges and universities.
fundamental research comes from NSF.
- In 2020, NSF received approximately 43,000 research proposals from scientists and engineers and funded about 12,000.
- NSF-funded researchers have received 248 Nobel Prizes.

I’ve started using the word ascientific to describe a lot of what is happening. For example, mandating that sex only be recorded as male and female is ascientific—intersex people exist! Acting like gender doesn’t exist is ascientific—it very much does! Erasing transgender people is also ascientific!
