The guy's staff didn't try to prepare him for this debate? Or is he such an idiot he refused help? What a joke. Democrats hold themselves to a standard the GOP is incapable of meeting and it shows.

Working families in Maine are heading into winter and staring at the highest heating oil bills they've ever seen. Paul LePage openly said that when it gets too cold, he goes to Florida. I'll never abandon Mainers, and I'll fight to end the war in Iran and bring down your heating prices.

The US and the West welcomed Russia into the community of nations after the Cold War. Investment poured in. The G7 turned into G8. The idea that Poland, Estonia, etc. forming their own foreign relations was so unfair to Moscow that Russia is entitled to murder Ukrainians 20 years later is insane.

I think it's obvious we should get back to basics. Follow the evidence, follow the journalism, and call it what it is. Calling out lies doesn't make you biased because one side does it more often than another. You're biased when you slant the truth to make it more palatable for the liars to plug.

is embarrassing, and insulting when the press covers up obvious failures of duty by our leaders. We have tried for 10 years to draw tuned out consumers into a milquetoast, boring, and ultimately dishonest version of press coverage and that has gotten everyone, every outlet, nowhere.

The other thing, if news organizations used the word more often and more clearly defined the lie itself, it may actually pull people back into reading as opposed to turning people off. We are getting bias in every medium everywhere all the time, the press sugar coating and pussy-footing around it

Presidents lie, Trump is not the first, won't be the last. However, there is no doubt that Trump lies the most. Healy practically says this when he says using the word lie so often would lessen its effect. Reflecting truth is the ultimate goal of the press, so if the president lies a lot, say it.

danieljacobkulick.bsky.social @danieljacobkulick.bsky.social · 16/10/2026
it also does not matter. A truth is a truth. And if you call out a president for lying, it can be true. When you shelter a lie with word-slop and half-tellings, you become co-opted into the lie. It also incentivizes Trump to continue frivolous lawsuits and pressure the entire industry.

I found Patrick Healy's defense of NYT weak, especially on the topic of using the word "lie" too often. It sounds more like a guidance from legal dept. to avoid lawsuits from Trump, who we all know is a litigious individual with money to burn, but aside from almost all of those lawsuits failing

Great defense of journalistic ethics and call outs of obvious virtue-signaling by the Times here by @markjacob.bsky.social Any news org that doesn't stand by its own reporting and fact-finding to water down what we read in the ink is not doing us any favors, while it does many favors 4 the regime

Rep. Rashida Tlaib introduced the Get the Flock Out of Our Communities Act today with community leaders in front of a Flock camera in Inkster, Michigan, whose city officials just signed a long-term contract with the mass surveillance company.

There should not be any one in public service that is "off limits". If the news organizations are not holding someone to account who is put in front of them to lie, they are not doing the work of the public.

Ms Rachel from the top ropes
From Ms Rachel's account on Threads, she writes, "CORECIVIC, a company that makes hundreds of millions locking up KIDS in immigration detention
has a PAC that's sending campaign checks to Senator Susan Collins of Maine.
Susan Collins chairs the Senate committee that writes ICE's budget.
ICE is CoreCivic's customer.
The company gets paid out of a budget she controls, and it pays into her campaign."
