No, seriously. She was abused by the Israeli military for participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla. You can say whatever you want about her motivations, but that was a real risk and had real consequences for those who participated. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_Gl...

Or she's using her fame to boost the causes and movements she cares about? Showing up in solidarity whenever she can? She's taken very real risks doing that.

If you're wondering why Flock leaves cameras up after a contract end, part of their business model and marketing strategy is being able to advertise that their customers can access data from cameras all over the country. You may have canceled your contract, but the cameras still fuel the system.

Presumably there's no real behavior attached to this that isn't validated by backend session management (IE presumably I can't actually do anything to someone else's profile by setting `?isSelfProfile=true`). But with AI driven development... who knows? 🤷‍♂️

Further, users can edit query parameters. Would it ever make sense for me to go to someone else's profile and add `?isSelfProfile=true`? No. No it would not.

Daniel Bingham @danielbingham.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
`isSelfProfile` makes zero sense for this. If I share my profile link, I'm not going to be sharing it with myself, I'm going to be sharing it with people not me. In which case, `isSelfProfile` should no longer be true.

Daniel Bingham @danielbingham.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
These days they are mostly used for things that should follow the url around. Search parameters (where you might want to link someone to the search you ran) or tracking ids (where you're trying to track how a particular link propagates).
100 1
Daniel Bingham @danielbingham.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Let me explain. Query parameters are user provided, meaning they are untrusted. In the ancient days some people would pass the session ID around in a query parameter, but this was deeply insecure and made it super easy for attackers to steal your session (and take over your account).

Daniel Bingham @danielbingham.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
LinkedIn appears to now be adding `?isSelfProfile=true` to the URL when you look at your own profile. There is no world where that makes sense. This has to be yet another example of AI driven development resulting in terrible code and product choices.

Part of the reason a lot of super rich people are so awful is that when normal people get an absurd amount of money, they immediately start looking around for who they can help.

There is something deeply cathartic about reading through Kai's posts, after listening to his measured journalism on Marketplace for years, and seeing him absolutely letting loose on our behalf. More journalists should take note: cursing and swearing at our present situation is wholly appropriate.

Hannah Al-Othman Hannah Al-Othman has more on the disorder near the Shankill Road that culminated in a house being stormed by
masked men: On a residential street draped in loyalist flags near Belfast's Shankhill road, the masked men approached a house with a boarded-up window and a security camera
stationed outside. As a woman from an ethnic minority background looked down from an upstairs window, some of the men rushed the front door and broke it down. With the air thick with smoke from fireworks, they attacked
the downstairs windows with bricks. As they stormed the property, some claimed to be "liberating" it. Graffiti nearby
demanded "local homes for local people".
A woman in the crowd said to her friend:
"There's wee girls inside" Nearby, a car was set on fire. As the chaos unfolded, a man in a skull facemask told
onlookers to put their phones away. Helicopters circled overhead, and two police officers looked on from their car
nearby as smoke billowed towards the sky -
