Today at approximately 1:30 PM Eastern time the main accounts for the No Kings coalition on Instagram were frozen and pulled down. The admin have lost access to the account and are unable to login. The coalition needs amplification to drive attention towards this attempt to impact our communications

One of the ways Civil Resistance works is by peeling off regime defectors. We only need a handful of Republican Senators and a handful of Republican Representatives to defect in order to impeach and convict. Direct pressure through their offices has the potential to really build towards defections!

Communities uses a friend model, long form posts, and supports groups. We're working on events next. It's designed to help communities connect and organize. We're working towards making it a nonprofit, cooperative. It will be governed by its workers and users, not owned by oligarchs.

Since last November I've been working on an alternative to Facebook that will be a non-profit cooperative. It uses a friend model rather than followers, supports long form posts and groups, with more to come. Open Beta started a few weeks ago and the mobile apps are now code complete!

So much academic software and digital infrastructure in a nutshell. This is often what happens when people hire agencies and contractors to build software according to their specifications, instead of finding experienced technical co-founders to help solve their target problems.

With that, I'm playing with world generation. I've been generating heightmaps with an erosion simulation, and then using the same erosion simulation to generate the world's water and water flow.
