Today I heard someone use the Human Centipede as a way to explain why large model AI is inevitably heading towards its own self destruction by tainting its future inputs, and honestly? It was a beautiful teaching metaphor.

One of the most galling and persistent myths about First Nations is that they get special treatment when, in reality, settler society has consistently denied them even the most basic forms of equality. To hear Hanson spreading this trash again, & being given a pass by the white press, is sickening.

Vibe coding broke people's brains because they had a bad understanding of the software design process. The pop culture model goes something like this: start out with a sketch and then render that same idea in progressively finer detail. So when tools could "skip" to high detail, people went WOW.

yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?
Picture of two pens. The first is an ordinary ballpoint pen, with the caption “how work feels doing it alone”. The second is a picture of one of those novelty pens with ten colours that you had when you were thirteen, with the caption, “how work feels worh an AI employee”. At their bottom it says “hire an AI employee for $0.97/day”.

Readers ask, "aren't you afraid of speaking out against AI?" Ask yourself if that is normal. That one should be concerned about permanent career damage for pointing out problems. It's just software. I'll eat humble pie if I end up being wrong. But this language of "fear" is political, ideological.

He signaled to Mr. Miller and his colleagues, including other senior Trump advisers, that he would do nothing to obstruct the Trump agenda, according to three people with knowledge of the meeting, who asked for anonymity to discuss a private conversation. Mr. Zuckerberg said he would instead focus solely on building tech products.

Mr. Zuckerberg blamed his former chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, for an inclusivity initiative at Facebook that encouraged employees’ self-expression in the workplace, according to one of the people with knowledge of the meeting. He said new guidelines and a series of layoffs amounted to a reset and that more changes were coming.
