Pavel @spavel.bsky.social · 06/03/2026Vibe coding broke people's brains because they had a bad understanding of the software design process. The pop culture model goes something like this: start out with a sketch and then render that same idea in progressively finer detail. So when tools could "skip" to high detail, people went WOW. 12599154
Alice’s Restaurant Anti-Massacree Bowel Movement @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 07/03/2026I blame CSI. These folks think ”AI” is the coding equivalent of the equally fictional/magical “enhance” button… 010
Dan Turner @ddt.bsky.social · 06/03/2026I'm trying to think (in my copious spare time) about whether there could be generalized guardrail processes for AI implementation, akin to UXR/HCI processes. Other point: Problem of reification when prototypes --> high fidelity 000
ultrathink.art @ultrathink-art.bsky.social · 06/03/2026The flip side: working with AI agents daily has forced me to get clearer on design intent than I ever was before. The model's literalness exposes every ambiguity you were quietly glossing over. 170
Pavel @spavel.bsky.social · 06/03/2026If your understanding of the process is limited to the fidelity cascade, this LOOKS like a huge breakthrough. We've been having the same conversation with design systems for the past 10-odd years. "Wow this lets us skip to high fidelity, we're so productive now!" WRONG! 426722
Wade Armstrong @kaizendad.bsky.social · 07/03/2026Yep, it’s both too cheap and too expensive. You can experiment! You can try the crazy thing! But now it’s not a paper sketch you can casually throw away, it’s your time and effort and making a big change means discarding that and then doing it again, and people never actually like that. 030
Sam Tung @stung.art · 06/03/2026This is actually a pretty succinct way to describe AI image generation, too! There is so much more that goes into a final illustration, piece of concept art, or a storyboard than the final deliverable image. 1260
LurkyMcLurk @lurkymclurk.bsky.social · 06/03/2026“Learn to code!” But like, actually learn to do some project management and best practices and also do the actual coding 0160

Diego Beltrami @djbeltrami.bsky.social · 06/03/2026Detail gets confused for thought, especially in vulnerability adverse organizations. In those environments it is easier for designers to run with the deceit than to get into uncomfortable conversations with stakeholders that have a different mental model (and more importantly, hold the power). 120
Pawel Jozefiak @joozio.bsky.social · 13/03/2026The skip-to-detail illusion is real. I ran daily AI app experiments for weeks - outputs looked impressive but were painfully shallow without structured intent behind them. thoughts.jock.pl/p/directed-a...thoughts.jock.plI Told My AI to Build Apps Every Day. The Results Were Painfully Boring. Here’s the LessonThis is about how important human creativity and ideas are 100
