Made some carnitas for the first time today. They turned out mighty tasty.

5 lbs of pork shoulder roasts, covered in a wet rub and topped with an onion and poblano pepper & sitting in orange juice and lime juice inside of a slow cooker, ready to be cooked for 8 hours

The shredded carnitas after 8 hours in the slow cooker then 20 minutes in the oven to further cooked and broil.

How I served my carnitas, on crappy corn street taco tortillas with diced red onions and a pale green sauce (it’s tomatillo ranch) and topped with a dusting of cotija cheese, alongside a serving of plain white rice with cilantro. Very white suburban.
