Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning, words by Cat Stevens. #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday #mist #morning #Knowlepark
A woman and her four legged friend walk slowly along a sunlit path on a misty Sunday morning, the low sun lighting the early mist.

It is a long time that I have been to a motor racing meeting. I must go again.

I loved the day but should have brought my heavy 400mm lens. Taking pictures in the pits was good fun. I loved the track pictures as well. As it was a smaller meeting you could get close to the action.

No wheels but still a winner. Ash Sutton won the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship title at Silverstone this past weekend, for a record-breaking fifth time. A photograph of his car in the pits as the mechanics were getting car #116 ready for action. #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday
Ash Sutton's car, number 116, in the pit garage at Silverstone with its wheels still off, as mechanics prepare it for the race. The mainly blue and yellow livery stands out in the garage.

The Black Path This footpath over the West Coast railway in Rugby always offers wonderful photographic opportunities. The black path name comes from the black cinders that used to line the route. #fsprintmonday #sharemondays2026 #streetphotography #urbanscene
A cyclist on the Black Path in Rugby which is a footbridge over the West Coast Railway line. The name comes from the cinders that lined the path. This path allowed workers to walk to the British Thomson-Houston (BTH) factory which was north of the railway. Despite the grim design, this pedestrian walkway remains a popular walking and cycling link..

The Red Coast glowing in the early morning sun. Locked away in those res sandstone cliffs is a landscape lost in time. This is where the ancestors of dinosaurs once roamed. #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday #sidmouth #southdevon
The Red Coast near to Sidmouth in South Devon glows in the early morning sunrise. This is part of the West Country. I am looking west onto what is termed the Jurassic Coast. 235 million years ago during the Triassic period, the earliest ancestors of the dinosaurs lived. Locked away in the red sandstone of these cliffs are the remains of a landscape lost in time.

Seeing the light. #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday #selfridges #birmingham #architecture
The internal architecture of Selfridges in Birmingham is just as impressive as the external structure. Taken on my iPhone on Saturday afternoon, this shot catches the sun illuminating the central section of the store. The eye is drawn upwards past the balcony curves and the lines of the escalators to the canopy. The ceiling skylight lets the bright sunlight flood into the atrium.

The 1.30pm tour of Highbury House Open Day #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday #chamberlainhighburytrust #birmingham Please read the ALT for the story behind the image.
I took part in an IgersBirmingham photographic Instameet at Highbury Hall, Birmingham. The house is the home of the Chamberlain family that did so much for the City of Birmingham. There was so much to photograph. I went on a hidden tour of the building. Highbury Hall has 60 rooms of which only around 12 are used. I enjoyed taking this picture of the tour on the balcony in the centre of the house. There is much to see with the level of interest shown by various people on the tour.

Back to the future #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday #longexposure #stpaulscathedral
I was in London for a meeting. After a very enjoyable evening meal in Borough Market, I made my way over Millennium Bridge to St Paul's cathedral. There is a classic spot where you can catch the night buses going past with St Paul's in the background. There is even a conveniently placed green utilities box on the kerbside to rest your camera. A great place to take long exposures. Trouble is after a nice dinner with drinks and no tripod, keeping the camera stable is a challenge. I am pleased with the result but do not look too closely at the cathedral. LOL

I know they get very agitated if you take pictures of fire exits. Yes I too remember when there was just one or two skyscrapers and nearby Limehouse had a couple of houses, one of which David Owen the politician lived in. Those were the days.

Take care when visiting Canary Wharf. It is private land and technically you need permission to photograph. This is the old argument where the security very quickly notice a big camera but turn a blind eye to compacts and mobile phones. Having said that the place is great for street photography.
