Immigration has been a demographic lifeline for much of rural America. Rural areas have been losing young adults for years, says Professor Shannon Monnat. “For a lot of small towns, immigrants are the reason the school and hospital stayed open and the county didn’t shrink.” @cprmaxwell.bsky.social

This is just what happens when someone has lifelong health insurance because they served in congress. Secure health insurance enables folks to do whatever they want with their time rather than work a job to provide health insurance.

Justice takes time. The investigation started during the Biden administration. It just takes a while, and why it's so stupid and dangerous that we now consider who is president when the justice department charges individuals.

Nah, his goal contributions were pretty high and he was highly effective. You just seem to remember the frustration at missed chances.

Dave Larsen @dalarsen.bsky.social · 09/06/2026
How about his goals and assists return? Do you realize he has third highest goal contributions per minutes played of our forward line in past 6 years? Better than Sadio Mane, Cody Gakpo, Roberto Firmino, Hugo Ekitike, Luis Diaz.

Nah, it's just that in order to score as many goals as he does and miss as many times as he does, he's one of the most exciting players on the planet.

Those are just the numbers, but Mo Salah probably said it best, "I know that many people don't like Nunez, but I like playing with him. He is the player I like to play with the most after Firmino."

Welp, i guess we can win the transfer window trophy again then. Klopp built two title-winning squads, Edwards built one. So far Edwards/Hughes has now dismantled one.

There is immense competition in science. Every scientist is competing all the time. Just because all those scientists are at the same agency or university does not mean there is not competition. Science is not, "Who can sell the most ice cream."

Arnse Slot plays players out of position, especially in the back four. When a natural, trained back four is playing we Liverpool conceded every 66 minutes. When Slot changed that up Liverpool conceded every 56 minutes. It's instinct and training, and Slot doesn't seem to recognize it. #LFC

Dave Larsen @dalarsen.bsky.social · 16/05/2026
We lost the plot when Slot took Jones out of midfield and put him at right back. It imbalanced the side. The more worrying thing is Slot does this regularly - his entire tactical approach is more attackers (even out of position), less defenders.

Dave Larsen @dalarsen.bsky.social · 16/05/2026
He's probably including Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Harvey Elliott, and Jarrel Quansah. Slot gutted the squad, and now is wondering why it's not working out.

Dave Larsen @dalarsen.bsky.social · 16/05/2026
And how many of those goals are conceded after you take off a natural right back? Or a natural center back? The back four has no stability.

I would be in favor of putting the onus of health insurance, day care, and other social issues on the states. But, i would want also to return the police power to the states. Abolish ICE. Abolish DHS. Change the FBI into an advisory group similar to the CDC. I would make that trade.

This could be a game changer!! Diarrhea is global health's least sexy challenge, but it remains a top killer of children. E.coli is present in 98% of water sources in Guatemala, for example, and systematic water purification is incredibly challenging for low-resourced contexts.

My daughter (15) solved the Typhoid Mary problem. When I told her the history and eventual intervention she simply asked, "Why didn't they just pay her not to cook?" I had never thought of that solution nor heard that solution in all my years of teaching.
