Lot 805: My US Gt Grandparents' Colonial Blue Fenton glass collection, better seen in its original display condition (see my pics). I'm especially gutted to part with this collection. 😭 #Vintage #Antiques #VintageShowAndSell #VintageGlass #FentonGlass www.easyliveauction.com/catalogue/lo...
A photograph showing four downlit shelves of a Colonial Blue thumbprint Fenton glass collection. On the top shelf are two paler blue goblets and a glass lidded blue candy dish. On the next shelf down are six tall stemmed cocktail glasses. On the next shelf down, much darker due to the glass above diffusing the downlighter, are a milk jug, tall and small drinking glasses. On the bottom shelf behind a milk glass chicken and two white eggcups are a lidded sugar dish, a blue bottle and a candlestick.A photograph showing downlit shelves of a Colonial Blue thumbprint Fenton glass collection. Having just gone through it, I know bereavement & money worries are horrific, & even where mental health is on an even keel, suffocatingly difficult to deal with. If you can, please help this courageous person doing the bravest thing - openly admitting he needs help. Please look after each other.💖

🧵Who Has Walked This Path Before? Who has walked this path before, where worn stones keep their trust? Whose footsteps stirred the shallow ford and vanished into dust? What hopes were carried in their hearts beneath the selfsame sky? What tears were left upon the wind where ash and alder sigh?
Beneath the fallen leaves lies a path shaped by generations now long gone. Every traveller leaves nothing behind but the faintest trace, yet together they have carved these ancient ways into the landscape. This poem is a quiet reflection on walking in their footsteps. 🧵3 posts You would never guess where I have been this morning! Tucked away on Front Street at Glasshoughton is one of Castleford’s most unusual historic survivors. This Grade II listed public urinal, dating from the late Victorian or early Edwardian period, is far more than a simple convenience.
This is a Grade II listed Victorian cast-iron urinal, manufactured by Walter MacFarlane & Co. at the Saracen Foundry in Glasgow in the late 19th century. Similar ornate, prefabricated structures, sometimes called "pissoirs" or "Temples of Relief," are found in cities like Birmingham, Bristol, and London. The panels feature intricate geometric and floral designs, though this example shows significant rust and paint peeling. Busy today, but can't forget #PhantomsFriday. Another find from my hunt for such things on the Internet Archive, and I must admit this one has a weird premise. Ever wonder what would happen if NBC did a ghost documentary in the 1960's UK, starring celebrity ghost hunters? Yeah. Me neither until now!

Well, for anyone that cares to look. The figures I had to draw in this instance were in a 14th century church, waiting for the Easter procession & listening to the priests high in the screen that I reconstructed in the drawing.
A drawing showing people gathered in the nave of a church waiting for a procession of clergy to emerge from the chancel through the central opening.

MY PICTURE THREAD. I used to Go Out & take pictures. And I sometimes used to art bad pictures, too. This is my thread of pictures, inspired by dailypicturetheme, who currently only post on Shitter (with a "2" after their handle). I hope to get back to picture producing one day. #Photography #Art
A photograph of one of my gingerbread men I used to make to take fishing with me. In the background is an estuary, right at the mouth of the Taw river where it meets the Atlantic and the Torridge river. It's at low tide just on the turn to catch the incoming flounder. My fishing rod is set up on its tripod with a line out. My gingerbread man is missing an arm, with bright red icing all over him - he sacrificed that arm to Neptune, an offering I always give at the start of a fishing session. The gingerbread man's boogly eyes are staring at his bloody, empty socket, and his mouth is open wide in shock.

A photograph of a wooden framed cross stitch tapestry my parents have always had hanging in their home. It reads, "God bless our home" and has a picture of a house below it, surrounded by a couple of trees and some shrubs.
