Really appreciate this data reporting from the @startribune.com, which comes with the appropriate cautions about the crowd-sourced data. Looks like the ICE/DHS surge in MN is down significantly, but (a) was HUGE compared to other cities, (b) impacted the suburbs A LOT, and (c) is still happening.

This is so embarrassing. A conscientious decision to withdraw from something is absolutely not "failing to prepare," it's a choice to not participate, and anyone who can't tell the difference should not have a job in writing or editing. Such as being a newspaper editor.

This just shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how to do news. Data helps, but data doesn’t tell a reporter to spend a years-long investigation into child labor or an editor to place staff in a country on the brink of war. What exactly does Bezos think WaPo’s “journalistic mission” is?

The beauty of mass nonviolent resistance and mutual aid is that every kidnapping, every murder, every beating, every lie—the only weapons they have—invigorates our solidarity and commitment and weakens them. It turns their violence and propaganda inside out. We’re winning and it’s not even close.
