I can’t help thinking about Wenger and how he toiled to keep Arsenal competitive whilst having to sell players to balance the books. A lot of those players to Man City. I hope in time people understand what he did for us and Arsenal

A £900m bombshell … and the rest
Morning. There’s only one place to begin this morning and that’s the Premier League releasing a statement on the Man City charges. It dropped late yesterday afternoon, and suffice to say it’s a bombshell. If I wasn’t expecting them to be found guilty of 114 of 115 charges, I also didn’t expect the explanation to […] The post A £900m bombshell … and the rest appeared first on Arseblog ... an Arsenal blog.

Two things: 1. If you're still in labour at this point you are not on the left of anything 2. If you expected Burnham to actually move the party left you are politically illiterate. He made very clear his principles during his leadership bid in the byelection.

🧵 You've heard the one sided attack, but the right wing rags or the wreckers working internally don't get the final say. It's time to speak out.
🧵 Since I announced that I was standing to become Deputy Leader of the Green Party, I have been subjected to a sustained series of allegations, complaints, leaks and personal attacks. Some have been explicitly racist and Islamophobic.

It didn't stop when I was elected.
I have tried not to respond to every allegation. I've tried to be patient, trust the proper processes and let the evidence speak for itself.
But there comes a point when you have to look at the pattern.
In early August, allegations were made about the Special Responsibility Allowance allocated to me by the Leeds Green Group.
The Head of Democratic Services looked at it. The Office of the City Solicitor looked at it. Both confirmed that the Green Group had acted properly.
The allegations continued.
Now Leeds City Council's Internal Audit team has completed a further review. We have received confirmation that:
"The payment for the Special Responsibility Allowance (Opposition Group Officer Holder) has been made by the council in accordance with normal practice, and that the council has discharged its role appropriately."

Beer chucking is an obvious concern when it comes to allowing drinks in view of the pitch. But the thing that will annoy most people will be the drinkers who constantly walk up and down the aisle to buy beer (and take their WC trips) during play.

This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.
