Without wanting to sound melodramatic, it feels Ken Friar's passing ends an era in football that will never be recaptured. The downward spiral of the game we love is personified by City being proven as cheats. Not sure it will ever recover. RIP KF

Double injury complicates selection but still room for rotation against Lille
Morning. Arsenal are in Champions League action this evening, and while there’s still room for Mikel Arteta to rotate his squad, we go into this one without two players who would likely have started the game. The manager confirmed that both Martin Zubimendi and Piero Hincapie picked up injuries in a small-sided game that took […] The post Double injury complicates selection but still room for rotation against Lille appeared first on Arseblog ... an Arsenal blog.

Arsenal 2-1 Leeds: Calafiori and Guimaraes help Gunners turn it around
Match report – Player ratings – Arteta reaction  Arsenal got back to winning ways yesterday after a difficult 2-1 win over Leeds. There was a bit of a surprise in the starting XI with Noni Madueke preferred to Eberechi Eze on the left, while Kai Havertz started up front when the prevailing wisdom was this […] The post Arsenal 2-1 Leeds: Calafiori and Guimaraes help Gunners turn it around appeared first on Arseblog ... an Arsenal blog.

A long wait but it’s time to respond
Morning all. We’re back! After three long weeks of an Interlull coupled with sitting on that defeat to Brighton, Arsenal are in action again today with a 12.30 home game against Leeds. Without taking anything for granted, it’s a relatively kind way to get going again, but obviously we’ll have to be a lot, lot […] The post A long wait but it’s time to respond appeared first on Arseblog ... an Arsenal blog.

Good news everybody – Mikel Arteta signs a new contract
Morning all. There’s only one place to start today and that’s confirmation of Mikel Arteta’s contract extension. The manager signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until June 2030, and I don’t think there’s any way to frame this other than great news. It’s a deserved renewal, not just for the […] The post Good news everybody – Mikel Arteta signs a new contract appeared first on Arseblog ... an Arsenal blog.

🧵 You've heard the one sided attack, but the right wing rags or the wreckers working internally don't get the final say. It's time to speak out.
🧵 Since I announced that I was standing to become Deputy Leader of the Green Party, I have been subjected to a sustained series of allegations, complaints, leaks and personal attacks. Some have been explicitly racist and Islamophobic.

It didn't stop when I was elected.
I have tried not to respond to every allegation. I've tried to be patient, trust the proper processes and let the evidence speak for itself.
But there comes a point when you have to look at the pattern.
In early August, allegations were made about the Special Responsibility Allowance allocated to me by the Leeds Green Group.
The Head of Democratic Services looked at it. The Office of the City Solicitor looked at it. Both confirmed that the Green Group had acted properly.
The allegations continued.
Now Leeds City Council's Internal Audit team has completed a further review. We have received confirmation that:
"The payment for the Special Responsibility Allowance (Opposition Group Officer Holder) has been made by the council in accordance with normal practice, and that the council has discharged its role appropriately."

Beer chucking is an obvious concern when it comes to allowing drinks in view of the pitch. But the thing that will annoy most people will be the drinkers who constantly walk up and down the aisle to buy beer (and take their WC trips) during play.
