Once upon a time, while studying disinfo about the civil war in Syria, I posted my thoughts on Gabbard as a down-the-rabbit-hole serial repeater of Russian-Iranian-Syrian propaganda. Then Jack Dorsey jumped into my DMs telling me I had it all wrong. Strange times. And yet still not as weird as this.

I seem to recall Ilan Wurman cherry-picking a handful of writings by avowed white supremacists in an effort to show the birthright citizenship clause wasn’t widely accepted to mean what it says. Perhaps he missed all these.

It's no different than when he says "I have ordered our heroic ICE agents to run airports!" or "I am ordering CNN to stop publishing fake news!" except the hostile country on the other side was happy to say "Great, sounds like you agreed to all our terms," and run with it.

They can't say "Trump just tweeted out something and expected it to manifest in reality without any understanding how it or whether it could do so" because then they'd have to acknowledge this is how he conducts 100% of policymaking

The argument or the claim from Congress/WH for why this is a good idea is because it will force companies to invest in R&D/production rather than "make big profits and do nothing", but companies invest based on signals from Congress/DoD. If the vibe from either is rancid then why invest?

If we want to be dictating how defense contractors can spend their money to include forcing them to spend money on stuff that will loose money because the govt thinks it's best, okay, but that's fundamentally upending the way this stuff has worked since at least WWII
