Our work, Progressive oxygenation of developing leaves directs morphogenesis, is now out in Science Advances! We found that developing leaves oxygenate from tip to base, strikingly mirroring their developmental axis, and this drives leaf dev. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.aef2430 #plantscience

Tiny shoot apical meristems demand precision and patience. During my PhD, I measured oxygen directly by inserting a 3 or 10 µm microsensor into the meristem. Very happy that this work is now published in Molecular Plant. Link: doi.org/10.1016/j.mo...

Great to see this out: Plants respond very fast (within 5-10 minutes 😱) to hypoxia and the N-degron pathway can be sufficient for this rapid induction. Congrats @mikellavi.bsky.social and team!
