My latest @newscientist.com cartoon
Panel 1: a large robot (composed of AI servers, network switches, storage arrays, and power distribution units) and a human are talking.

Professor "You don't want to destroy humanity do you, lLLM-A-9300x?"

Robot "Haha. What a silly question, Professor. I have no desires or feelings of my own whatsoever."

Professor (relieved)"Oh good."

Panel 2: they walk on. The robot continues "I am merely a tool of the company that created me. And that company, being composed of humans, will naturally have humanity's best interests at heart."

Panel 3: The professor is conspicuously quiet.
"Right?" says the Robot.
…
More silence

"Professor?"

A look at Russia's diesel production v domestic consumption data shows that Pedolf's bigly diesel deal with Russia is bolloxology. Even if Russia were to export 100% of all the diesel it produces over domestic consumption (Sept 2026 data), it would provide only 1.9% of what the USA uses monthly

In this section of his speech, Trump is lying about the intelligence community's findings about China's actions in the 2020 election. This is the actual IC finding, declassified in 2021. www.dni.gov/files/ODNI/d...
Key Judgment 4: We assess that China did not deploy interference efforts and considered but did not deploy influence efforts intended to change the outcome of the US Presidential election. We have high confidence in this judgment. China sought stability in its relationship with the United States, did not view either election outcome as being advantageous enough for China to risk getting caught meddling, and assessed its traditional influence tools—primarily targeted economic measures and lobbying—would be sufficient to meet its goal of shaping US China policy regardless of the winner. The NIO for Cyber assesses, however, that China did take some steps to try to undermine
former President Trump’s reelection.
