As an affirmed dog lover, I have a few things to say. (1) Dogs are harder than people admit. They take a lot of work. They need constant exercise and mental stimulation, especially those with working dog heritage of any kind. Dogs are hard.

I love Metroid but also I hate Metroid. I am just not big on the very genre named after the games but end up wanting to play them anyway because the vibes are immaculate. Metroid Prime 1 in particular I really loved though. Playing Fusion atm and its cool but still so frustrating at times.

That's a lot of damn good game right there. Honestly Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad are both underrated too imo, Suicide Squad is one of the most unique third person shooters I've ever played and was very worth playing through the main story even if I didnt care to do post game content.

I've found online in fighting games to be incredibly intimidating but actually braved ranked battles in Tekken 8 and after like 15 matches managed to get two wins and my first ever rank up.

Got Tekken 8 and its clicked more than any other fighting game I've tried that isnt Smash Bros. Kind of want to attempt to actually get good at it. The character I ended up liking and maining is also apparently one of the most complex in the game oops.

I love Pokemon Legends Z-A, it's probably one of my new favorite games in the franchise, but man, it really could have used either a shorter runtime or a more extensive and varied open world. I just reached rank D and I'm very ready for the game to be over.

Am now officially planning for a trip to Japan and have a Google doc tracking info and things I want to do. Very excited, I sure hope I can save the money I need. Currently thinking staying in Kyoto and visiting Nara one of the days. My heart is very set on Nara, I want to give the deer crackers.

Spiral by Koji Suzuki (sequel to Ring) was absolutely wild in both good and bad ways. Utterly absurd, problematic at times, can't say I recommend it (maybe just stick to the Ring films) but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't very entertained. Structure and pacing of both books was superb.

If you are on the fence about possibly learning a new language, honestly I say go for it especially if you're monolingual. It's been frustrating at times but learning Japanese has been such a cool and rewarding experience.

So, I mined the short story ahead of time for my srs vocab/kanji, but yesterday I read a Japanese "level 0" short story fully and mostly understood it, which feels like a really cool accomplishment.

I know Limited Run Games kind of sucks but I feel they are the lesser of two evils at this point. They at least make sure as much as possible is on disc and give a lot of smaller titles an avenue to get a release.

I'm at a stage with learning Japanese that I'm both frustrated I'm not better than I am but also impressed I've gotten as far as I have. I'm at nearly 250 vocabulary words and 40 known kanji!

Assassin's Creed 3 is simultaneously my favorite yet narratively but everything aside from the writing is the worst yet. If I wasn't invested in and enjoying the storyline I would not be finishing this game. I really like how it dissects and discusses the Revolution from multiple perspectives.

Paradox games are wild, every one is like 99% overwhelmingly positive, all the reviews are "6000 hours played. it's alright" then every DLC costs the same as the base game and it's like 51% mixed response and the reviewers are ready to start throwing molotovs through the paradox office window
