Very sorry to hear of the death of @frankmcdonald60.bsky.social His Destruction of Dublin was what really got me interested in Dublin . A friend who worked as a sub at the Irish Times back in 90s said he was unique among the writers there in that his pieces needed no correcting. Rest easy Frank.

Today I got to sit in the cab of a 1957 diesel loco while it pulled a massive 1940s steam locomotive (driving wheels are about a six foot diameter) out of a shed before it heads away for a rebuild. Fun Saturday.
