A khipu master banished from Cusco. A trader's daughter sent to guide her. A jungle civilization where law is poetry, and a machine that could write it all. A slow-burn sapphic novel about power, and whether inventors answer for what they build. #DVpit #A #HF #LF #LGBT #Latine
A narrow rocky stream winding through a dense, shaded tropical forest framed by long hanging vines and thick green foliage, evoking a secluded, tranquil jungle scene.

Who writes the laws, who enacts them, who never gets a say? An exiled Inca knot-writer finds a stateless jungle society governed by poetry, and a scribe building a machine to automate it. A sapphic, dual-POV novel of the pre-Columbian Andes and Amazon. #DVpit #A #HF #LF #LGBT #Latine
Misty forest stream with a narrow curved wooden-plank walkway crossing shallow water toward a fallen log and tall trees rising through soft morning light, surrounded by ferns and broad-leaf plants.

Pre-Columbian Andes & Amazon, two women in alternating voices. An exiled Inca khipu master and her jungle guide fall in love slowly, badly, honestly, while a charismatic scribe builds a machine to write the law. EVERY RIVER CARRIES ITS OWN MOONLIGHT, 60k. #DVpit #A #HF #LF #LGBT #Latine

CIRCE meets THE DICTIONARY OF LOST WORDS in the pre-Columbian Andes and Amazon: an exiled Inca khipu master with forbidden knowledge joins a jungle plot to build a machine that writes the law. Her guide asks the question no one else will. Sapphic, dual POV, 60k. #DVpit #A #HF #LF #LGBT #Latine

What if the first computer was a river-driven machine that wrote poems? In pre-Columbian South America, an exiled khipu master joins a plot to build it, while her guide wonders if the woman she loves is helping build a cage. Dual POV. #DVpit #A #HF #LF #LGBT #Latine

Amaru is Cusco's top khipu master until her mentor banishes her to a jungle where law is poetry. Now, if she doesn't stop the machine she's building, one scribe will control what a civilization knows and how it functions. And she's falling for her guide. #DVpit #A #HF #LF #LGBT #Latine

The way I see it, there as many or more websites today as there were in, say, 2001. And the amount (not percentage) of traffic they get is probably higher. I think that the weirdos who were very online before web 2.0 still are in a similar way.

There are no “legitimate concerns” about trans people. There aren’t any about women’s safety or fairness in sports or kids being kids or fucking toilets. If there were you’d have heard of them before 2018. I am a cis white woman so you have to listen to me or I’ll cry.

I long for a back-to-basics web: Markdown for text, JPEG images, no video, no Javascript or other client-side scripting, writable by a human being with a text editor. Make it as advertising/corporate hostile as possible. And above all keep it *small*. In other words, web like it's 1996 again.

I've been quiet about this one until I had some definite news, but this book is available now!! It's a book that's both taken a long time to come to fruition and a whirlwind of a rush at the same time. Published by Island of Wak-Wak, the same as my poetry chapbook from two years ago.
cover art, text reads "Daniel Ausema, The Fall of the City of Bells"; images from the public domain shows monks pulling the ropes on a line of bells in an old building

you: please act normal you need these people to like you me: ok people: hello, nice to meet you me: Singular "They" is older than singular "You." Oxford dictionary has it being used in writing in 1375. Also, singular "You," instead of "Thou" was ridiculed as bad grammar in the 17th century.

It praises "Happiness Is ___" by Rodrigo Culagovski as "the literary equivalent of a hug" that "will leave you smiling," followed by the start of a review for "Have You Eaten Yet" by Ian Li.Interior book page showing the title page of a short story: "Happiness Is" by Rodrigo Culagovski, noted as a 900-word short story, with an epigraph reading "One of you will be chosen to live on our spaceship and travel the Galaxy with us," followed by the opening lines of the story text.A row of book spines standing on a shelf, including titles such as "Solarpunk Creatures," "Monstrous Futures," "We Are All Thieves of Somebody's Future," "Not Your Papi's Utopia," "Fission #5," a Chinese-language anthology ("AI大师"), "The Digital Aesthete," and "Worlds of Possibility Volume 2" at the far right in blue.

THE LAST INFINITY is out now! Come check out my book about time traveling disaster gays and the terrible things I put them through: books2read.com/b/bwMZ99. #TimeTravelAuthors #WritingCommunity
White text on a red starry background that says "Out Now!" and then lists the following tropes: time travel, found family, mlm and wlw relationships, I'll love you in every reality, disabled MCs, chronic illness, androids and robots, set on Mars. Available on Amazon, Kobo, Smashwords, and more!White text on a red starry background that reads: Cal Hunter is a cryo, a person who was cryogenically frozen after his death in the 22nd century. Resurrected four hundred years later, he now lives in the 26th century and works as a time traveler for the time agency on Mars.

After a mission goes disastrously wrong, Cal returns to his present to find that he's seriously altered the timeline. All life on Earth and the Moon has been wiped out, leaving only a failing settlement on Mars of fewer than two thousand people. Even worse, Cal can no longer time travel due to his injuries.

The only person who can fix the timeline is Renata Carr, a teenager from the 20th century. She's brought out of cryogenic suspension, and a reluctant Cal is put in charge not only of her training, but also her well-being. Meanwhile, Renata grapples with the grief of waking up in a strange century on another world while also coming of age—and falling in love with the daughter of one of Cal's friends.

When disaster strikes the settlement, the timeline for humanity's demise rapidly speeds up. While Cal knows he must send Renata on a mission she isn't ready for, and which will likely kill her, he is torn between saving humanity's past, present, and future, or the girl he's come to see as a daughter.

With Chicken
A young woman with long black hair and a white-and-black bodysuit sits on the edge of a steel beam high above a city street at night, smiling as she eats takeout from a carton with chopsticks. Beside her, a small armored figure with a bulky helmet and goggles drinks from a cup while holding a food container. An open takeout box and another carton rest on the beam nearby. Below them, another person in goggles sits on a lower ledge eating, surrounded by bags and containers. The scene is framed by the metal structure of the building, with neon-lit storefronts and empty streets in the background, creating a quiet urban atmosphere.

My story, "Her Hair the Color of a Sun-Red Orange," is in the latest issue of @utopiascifi.bsky.social! www.utopiasciencefiction.com/product-page...
A science fiction magazine cover on a pale peach background. At the top, a stylized blue masthead reads "UTOPIA," with "SCIENCE FICTION MAGAZINE" below it in smaller blue text, followed by "Volume VIII August, 2026" in white. Behind the title, a bright yellow-orange meteor with a glowing tail streaks diagonally across the page from left to right.

The central illustration depicts a headless astronaut in a bulky spacesuit falling upside down. The suit is colored with a blue-to-purple gradient and outlined in thick black ink in a comic-book style. The astronaut's severed neck points downward toward the bottom of the cover, while detached equipment—including bolts, panels, a bottle, and other mechanical debris—floats around the body in zero gravity. The figure is framed inside a large circular window or porthole with a gold rim, showing a black-and-gold planetary or abstract space background.

Centered over the lower half of the illustration is a list of contributors in bold white text with black outlines: Ian Li, Rodrigo Culagovski, Gio Clairval, Callie Voorhis, K.B. Nelson, Deborah Davitt, Torrey Francis Malek, Lisa Timpf, Denis Mortenson, Alberto Palmeiri, Samiha Zaki, and William Tenn. Near the bottom, "INTERVIEWS" appears above the names Tran Nguyen and Steve Davidson.
