Finished the first round of revisions on a new queer space horror book and got it to be a respectable 92K. Looking forward to unleashing yet another crew of space disaster gays on my 5 unsuspecting readers.

The reason I can never leave Twitter is that a post here that gets 18 notes will get 3K over there and drive the most traffic to my website to check out my books 😔

The problem with writing characters who are scientists and engineers is that I keep putting them in situations that *they* would be smart enough to figure out how to get out of, but I am not smart enough to get them out of it myself 😔

As I'm gearing up to announce my 3rd book in the next week or so, I can't forget about my previous children! Here's the father-daughter duo from THE LAST INFINITY, which features time travelers on Mars trying to save both the past and the future. Art credit @alstonnovak.bsky.social :) #booksky

Artwork from THE LAST INFINITY featuring Cal, a white man with blond hair and a scruffy beard, and Renata, a young girl with dark brown hair wearing a purple sweater. The tropes around Cal read amnesiac time traveler, uses a cane, and reluctant dad. The tropes around Renata read baby lesbian, chronically ill, and reluctantly saves humanity.

We always talk about enemies-to-lovers but what about enemies AND lovers??

Reading through an old scifi manuscript and realizing it's more complete than you thought and it won't take much revising to get it into a final form 🥰

Alexis Ames @alexisames.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Okay, so either talking about my queer scifi books actually works, or a bunch of orders were being held back by the system for some reason and only appeared today 😂 Either way, I'll take it!

Creating a side character for the sapphic thriller I'm writing with @lindseybyrd.bsky.social like "here is my precious boy. my little meow meow. he's done no wrong ever and he's my favorite. I think he should die horribly and tragically in act 3 🥰"

THE LAST INFINITY is out now! Come check out my book about time traveling disaster gays and the terrible things I put them through: books2read.com/b/bwMZ99. #TimeTravelAuthors #WritingCommunity

White text on a red starry background that says "Out Now!" and then lists the following tropes: time travel, found family, mlm and wlw relationships, I'll love you in every reality, disabled MCs, chronic illness, androids and robots, set on Mars. Available on Amazon, Kobo, Smashwords, and more!

White text on a red starry background that reads: Cal Hunter is a cryo, a person who was cryogenically frozen after his death in the 22nd century. Resurrected four hundred years later, he now lives in the 26th century and works as a time traveler for the time agency on Mars.

After a mission goes disastrously wrong, Cal returns to his present to find that he's seriously altered the timeline. All life on Earth and the Moon has been wiped out, leaving only a failing settlement on Mars of fewer than two thousand people. Even worse, Cal can no longer time travel due to his injuries.

The only person who can fix the timeline is Renata Carr, a teenager from the 20th century. She's brought out of cryogenic suspension, and a reluctant Cal is put in charge not only of her training, but also her well-being. Meanwhile, Renata grapples with the grief of waking up in a strange century on another world while also coming of age—and falling in love with the daughter of one of Cal's friends.

When disaster strikes the settlement, the timeline for humanity's demise rapidly speeds up. While Cal knows he must send Renata on a mission she isn't ready for, and which will likely kill her, he is torn between saving humanity's past, present, and future, or the girl he's come to see as a daughter.
