I resigned from ExxonMobil today. I spent the last three years doing fossil fuel extraction research at both BP and ExxonMobil. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing to maximize extraction while the window to act closes, and gambling with our lives. More below.

Babe, you can't spend more money on creating a problem than solving it. $34million for fixing climate change when you're spending significantly more to build pipelines, sell off green space, etc. is not only dogshit economic policy, it's downright offensive. Do not applaud for these crumbs.

It's successful at... reducing tourism. It's successful insofar as Canadians who don't want to spend US$ or risk US travel... aren't. But otherwise, I'm unsure what "success" looks like. Has US policy on due process for visitors changed? No. Has US screening of visitor political views stopped? No.

ProPublica spoke to about 150 people who had lived in homeless encampments when cities cleared them out in “sweeps.” We distributed notecards so people could tell us about the toll in their own words. ➡️ This is what they wrote: projects.propublica.org/impact-of-ho...
Handwritten notecard. Prompt at the top asks: What object was most devastating for you to lose, and how have you been coping? Answer below: Dentures. Were thrown away and coping isn't somthing I can do. It’s made me feel ugly, unworthy, can’t go get a job with no teeth. So how can get off the streets until another pair can be made?
