Broken or failed in the African officers who lead coups- they just happen to have conditions thrust upon them that made them question and reject some assumptions we don’t even think about…

Oh lol yeah, no part of the seminar for me is leading our actual officers down the thought path of “why do you do what you do? Why do you believe that? What happened if x or y changed?” and they tend to get a little uncomfortable. What I generally want them to get is there isn’t anything inherently

Scientists tried to run experiments to determine how high on the Mohs Hardness Scale the average Polish fiend grade officer got when told they had the absolute green light to go ham on the Soviet Union of 1939; they discover that there are substances harder than diamond.

It’s totally awesome that if I accidentally forward a random email to a personal address that now my mailbox can be raided for random information but a bunch of unvetted yahoos handed ridiculous amounts of power might not have FOIA apply to them because they’re an “advisory body” not an “agency.”

Yes! The G5 howitzer alone outmatches anything built in the 1930s, is produced domestically, and was a terror forty years ago before modern upgrades! A single Ratel with a 90mm gun would shoot and scoot until a while interwar armored company was a smoking graveyard!

I mean Jesus, regarding the response, Rome couldn’t conquer Africa, it lost whole legions trying to head down the Nile. If we’re arguing about a single, improbable, filled-with-assumptions tactical victory, who the fuck cares?!

Yeah it seems to assume a flat plain with each side fully fed and with the medical needs taken care of and armed only with assumed “locally made” armaments which is both incredibly stupid and involves a lot of assumptions about African capabilities.

As @spherical-cow.bsky.social notes this would be like War of the Worlds, with whole early war armored formations being deleted by drones they can’t even see piloted by Africans who are hundreds of miles away. A single TPDF Type 59G would demolish a whole company of Lees or Panzer IIs without a dent
