!!! I'm in this with a track "NOT IN SERVICE" that I made as an exercise in making drone. It's not exactly drone, but it's not a fifth as long as I want it to. I want to redo this at a proper length some time.

I think it's always been there, it's just the urgency of which it's being sought out is only making it more apparent. It's giving me hope.

The reason young people vibe with liminal horror is that the wealthy have spent the last half century destroying all anthropological spaces they can exist in, leaving *only* non-places en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-place

I have a broadcast from CFCF in Montreal on 10/1/1987 that has that line uncensored. I wonder if the US censors were more puritan (wouldn't surprise me).

As much as I hate to say it: We Bare Bears. A charming cartoon about bears adapting to life in SF went from "clever and sometimes surreal allegories of being an immigrant" to "bog-standard afternoon cartoon premises. Also a bear or two shows up."

I once asked a chat agent to connect me with a human. I apologized as soon as they replied "I am real person. :)" Treating customer service with respect is one of my strongest values.

I capture video recordings and put them on my YouTube and Archive dot org. There's a lot of drama and bad actors in the community, & many attempts to unite them end in fracture. Those with larger collections get hounded off of social media. youtube.com/@croixmedia archive.org/details/@cro...

Of course, I love both.
Two of my Bandcamp playlists. One is titled "Signalwave" and has 496 tracks in 737 minutes, or about 1 minute 29 seconds per track. (It would have more, but BC limits playlists to 500 tracks)
The other is "Dreamy Haziness," i.e., my slushwave playlist. 1024 minutes, 79 tracks, or about 12 minutes 58 seconds per track.

After thinking it over, the one thing 00s culture was good for was for opening previously male-dominated nerd culture to a broad and inclusive audience. It became a culture that welcomed people who weren't welcomed in the shitty Popular culture. Video Game Nerds were a cesspool, though.

Took me decades to figure that one out. It was the episode where the babies make cartoons. In one scene Gonzo is a lion tamer and there's old-timey footage of lions jumping through hoops. The song got stuck in my head & anxiety did the rest. The dream followed w/Classic Concentration's bonus round

ABC KSTP - Stephen King's IT - November 18, 1990 I saw 2 seconds of body horror and I noped tf out of there. I also saw The Witches which is deceptively packaged as a fun Jim Henson movie. Again, body horror. My biggest nightmare, though? Muppet Babies. It was of a cartoon lion attacking me.

LRT: Kate, as usual, says it better than I ever could. The mid-00s suuuuuucked. Not just for me, personally, but America as a whole.
PROTIP: Read the article instead. This is one part that stood out to me:

That being said, the statement “all historical eras have their redeeming qualities” does not apply to the mid-2000s. What great artistic production did come out of that era (certainly there were many important innovations in music) does not in any way absolve it of its irredeemable qualities: that it was paranoid, surreal, oversexed, cruel, and stupid; or that

One aspect of the AI hysteria that's gone overlooked is how many of its leaders feel it is their Moral Imperative (as opposed to profit motive) to create the Technological Singularity. It draws parallels to the Left Behind eschatological cult obliterating Gaza to bring about The Rapture.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...
A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is. Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

LRT: This is how I learn that there was a new Marzipan's Answering Machine uploaded about 13 lifetimes ago, which is just over 10 years.
Bottom of YouTube video that shows this is 31 minutes and 9 seconds long, or about 11 microlifetimes.
Title is "Marzipan's Answering Machine #17"
From homestarrunnerdotcom
413,043 views, Apr 1, 2016
Description "Everybody, everybody calls to leave Marzipan a message!"

YouTube AI says "Homestar Runner attempts a disastrous prank call before Marzipan receives a barrage of bizarre..."
[Note that the titular character is not in the intro to this video. Ah, Google. When it comes to disappointing, you never disappoint.]
