"With a big budget, a lack of true hit status, and new leadership coming in, "Halo" may have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time." It wasn't great either, which didn't help given the production costs.

Halo: Why Paramount+ Canceled The Live-Action Series - SlashFilm

Halo was supposed to be one of the crown jewels of Paramount+, but the video game adaptation was canceled after just two seasons. What happened?

Gargellians are very non violent in the traditional sense, but that doesn't mean they are passive. They have plenty of ways to defend themselves. 👽🪶 #gargellians

"When they feel *truly* cornered, all the oil rushes to their hands."
"One little touch from that and you'll be feeling those fingers for *weeks*."
"Some of 'em can do it at will... don't get those guys' bad side."

Please be careful what you're buying, they're starting to use AI generated images in these puzzles and are selling it for 5 whole ass dollars. Someone probably generated these for free in a few minutes yet it's the same price as the ones with real photographs that people were paid for.

Neill Blomkamp's District 9 was released 16 years ago today. "A massive starship bearing a bedraggled alien population appeared over Johannesburg, South Africa..." Discussions about a sequel have been going on for years, but nothing is in production. Yet. Mothership, art by Greg Broadmore:

I am at Tenerif and brought my sketchbook. You may expect scribbles of various qualities in the near future. ♡ . #art #sketch #alien #VarUSan #sketchbook

Photo of a sketch in a sketchbook. It shows an alien (species: Var'U'San) with slightly bird-like features. The top of the head is covered with a smooth carapace that forms a beak. Two thick antennae stand up high, like thin ears. The neck is covered with feathery hair. The jaw seems round, but prominent, sprouting several worm-shaped appendages.

An old exploration of the idea that humans and birrin (at least in this version) were planning a joint colony, studying how their young interacted with one another. I painted this with my PC plugged into a faulty socket at my grandma's house while I worked a temp job in the city!

Robert Zemeckis' Contact (1997): The machine, art by Steve Burg

A striking blue-toned illustration depicts a massive, futuristic structure resembling an offshore research facility, situated in a choppy, dark blue sea amidst icebergs. The structure is predominantly composed of metallic beams and platforms, with a prominent, intersecting ring-like centerpiece at its upper levels, suggesting advanced engineering.
