At the beginning of the pandemic some disabled people felt hope. We saw inclusion and accessibility improve overnight. We saw accommodations put in place that we had spent years begging for. We saw the world adapt. That hope was ripped away during the rush back to normal. It still hurts.

Scroll on… A cool-looking Red-tailed Hawk that someone is wondering which subspecies it might be - right up my alley! But when you zoom in on the photos literally every feather group has been so heavily manipulated and altered by AI editing that it’s impossible to determine subspecies because the photo is essentially fake now; just a mashup of whatever AI thinks parts of a Red-tail should look like.
Scroll on… WOW! That’s a remarkable trail cam photo of a Bobcat! It almost looks like a painting!… but the head looks oddly small…. hmmmm. After some prodding the original photo is produced and sure enough it had been so heavily altered by AI ‘post processing’ that the photo posted was essentially a digital mock-up with totally different proportions and fur markings. No longer the photo off the trail cam; it may as well have just been ‘created’ by AI from scratch.
This stuff is killing me. My days on social media are becoming very limited. We can’t even trust simple, everyday photos of animals to be real. The wildlife community needs to quit editing with AI, and we need to start calling out photographers that are using it. Our reality is being destroyed all around us.

JFC, please parents. Talk with your teens (and kids) about these chatbots. Encourage them NOT to use them as a friend and confidant. Also don't use them yourself that way. Given the data that these models were most likely trained on (internet scraping) the bots echo all kinds of brain rot.

I wanted to pop in and say if you are looking for a Spotify alternative I’ve now been using Deezer for a month & I’m loving it. I’m missing a few podcasts, but the music selection and mixing/shuffling tools work really well. I’m also able to stream on my old computer without the player struggling.

There's this background section about the terrible epidemic of chronic disease & they are VERY worried about children. Note the diseases they focus on? Autism spectrum disorders, obesity, & ADD/ADHD = vaccines did it. "increased prescriptions" = evidence-based medicine is bad

This concern applies urgently to America’s children. In 2022, an estimated 30 million children (40.7 percent) had at least one health condition, such as allergies, asthma, or an autoimmune disease. Autism spectrum disorder now affects 1 in 36 children in the United States — a staggering increase from rates of 1 to 4 out of 10,000 children identified with the condition during the 1980s. Eighteen percent of late adolescents and young adults have fatty liver disease, close to 30 percent of adolescents are prediabetic, and more than 40 percent of adolescents are overweight or obese.

These health burdens have continued to increase alongside the increased prescription of medication. For example, in the case of Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, over 3.4 million children are now on medication for the disorder — up from 3.2 million children in 2019-2020 — and the number of children being diagnosed with the condition continues to rise.
