Bally Bagayoko's incredible bravery here has also been (admirably, very admirably) imitated by many other politicians who have tried to intervene on behalf of the high schoolers. There are also several clips of Anthony Smith, député européen LFI, trying to engage with the forces where he is ignored.

There are lots of monuments to Wolfe, I found that one interesting because of the dedication from Montcalm.

If I recall correctly, at the Greenwich Observatory there is a statue of Wolfe, dedicated by the descendants of Montcalm.

More than 40 percent of MPs in #Canada are landlords. Only 30 percent of MPs are women. Should landed classes have more representation than women, who are the majority of Canadians?

Craig Saunders @craigsaunders.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
At least half of residents here rent. Smith didn't respond to tenant issues as an MP, neither did Brad Bradford (another landlord) as councillor. Need to stop electing landlords!

This is a handy tool. Former MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith is running in my ward in the municipal elections. I was able to look him up from when he was an MP and learned he is a landlord. We should have mandatory disclosure for all candidates at all levels.

Exactly what I meant. He will ne focused on a succession deal and building his name in other wards (which is all Brad has done this term). I also think he will hate the amount of constit work. There is a huge backlog and we need a councilor active in the community right now.

Craig Saunders @craigsaunders.bsky.social · 02/09/2026
Wish he had become their leader. Now he's running for council - a job I think he'd really hate. Plus it would give BEY yet another councillor who will be too busy running for mayor to do any of the hard work needed locally.

This morning in Danbury, ICE was arresting parents at school bus stops. But it’s more sinister. ICE waited until the kids were on the bus so when they are dropped off at the end of the day, they are alone, scared to death they can’t find their parents. I’m heading to Danbury.
