Again, one always hopes that people steal Elon Musk's money, but none would steal to such public benefit

Similarly, and there's perhaps a one-page paper one could attempt here, a sincere "bathroom critical" philosophical belief is also protected from discrimination by employers or in commerce etc in UK law. "Bathrooms" as such not existing, everywhere is the bathroom, as god and nature intends. Be free

Musk is paying big for GOTV. It can make a huge, huge difference. More than just fired up to vote people really need to be fired up to knock (and campaigns really need to hire up to knock. it's a midterm. turnout counts even more)

well it's in their dear leader's hands as you say. is that avoidable? in a purely material sense i suppose yes. but we live in Times Like These and so every story is bullshit television where someone's obvious mental problems tragically and wildly predictably bring their ruin. so who can say

places like that wouldn't even be showing up in national GCBs in a way that would move a needle, but of course they're massive outliers in terms of political impact because they're bullshit little nonsense states (very important)

A secretive network of groups ‘shilling for Big Oil’ just got exposed. Great summary here by @rachelgilmore.bsky.social of a new report from Greenpeace Canada into the murky figures muddying our conversations about energy. rachelgilmore.substack.com/p/a-secretiv...

Listen now | So much of Canada’s energy conversation makes no sense. Thanks to a new report from Greenpeace Canada, the murky figures muddying our conversations about energy are coming into view.

@hydevoltyge.bsky.social what do you think of the theory that the further out you go into the boonies the sharper the economic pain of all this nonsense has gotten, and OK WV WY SD KY and places where no one’s noticed yet, will make Kansas seem like a nice time for Republicans?

I wonder if this is going to be a “promoter extra sophisticated about cra process” situation or a “Jesus someone got wildly lucky/unlucky” situation (this taxpayer is gonna prove probably Quite Quite Unlucky, maybe less in danger because the case is in the public eye now)

Normally when your first filing is for a refund it gets held regardless! But sometimes it’s only sent to review. Certain types of refund claims, the business community has applied a lot of pressure over the years to pay out quickly, to boost free cash flow

@niedermeyer.online i was sitting here and an uncomfortable question occurred to me and i went looking for visual evidence and see nothing particularly convincing. You might know. Can Musk drive? Like if you gave him a car key and said here, take her for a spin, could he manage that?

It’s 50/50 whether they took the battery out of the Plummeting Tesla because it couldn’t get airborne with a battery, or they took it out because slamming the battery that hard into the ground would kill every witness

What is it with cops being sickos that they can’t even be normal sickos, they have to be extra super creepy and dorky sickos Just being a pedophile isn’t enough for a cop, they have to congratulate themselves as a particularly distinguished and tasteful pedophile

Have you considered mounting a SAM launcher to the Elefent to regain extra capability against airborne vehicle assault

It’s a myth that ground vehicles can’t hold territory against airborne, you need fire capability and maneuverability. I think they may be vulnerable in the undercarriage; this looks empty, certainly unarmored. Good luck.

This one’s even stranger with them apprently having fully had contact with this taxpayer at an Inquiries Line. They had a ton of advance warning, and also normally the system catches and flags first claims like this. Which they did here too, and now the system is grinding away.

As someone who’s represented many people who’ve been swindled in similar schemes (never in such a bizarrely extreme way, and I do have significant questions about the financial controls in place because this is wildly unusual to have such large first claims paid out) it’s always just false returns

The Fifth Estate doesn’t understand this story, unfortunately; they are acting as much like marks as the people who participated in the scheme. It’s a bit depressing that they fell for the shaggy dog story of what was submitted and why refunds were issued.

I always loved what I do and I don’t often get to share the work I do to protect people’s rights against governments and against capital, because of duties to clients. So it’s lovely to be able to share when I have work that’s more public and less private.

Wow. Just wow. Everyone’s on edge these days but there’s no excuse for being told five or six times you’re breaking the law and have them and then the cops and then the officials all just shrug at you. Answer me!

How can you make an error, and a MAXIMUM POSSIBLE ERROR at that (believing the landlord reserves all rights when by binding law they reserve none) about something core and basic to your, you know, ACTUAL JOB and then have the gall to listen to me cite the actual law and say to me “that’s not true”

I’m going to maybe report them all to the OPP as it doesn’t seem there’s anywhere else for this to go. It’s so unbelievably frustrating to see a private landlord and government officials conspire to defeat political and speech rights like this.

I’ve had several government officials today try to tell me that this law doesn’t exist. It’s so infuriating
From the Municipal Elections Act (Ontario)

Display of signs at residential premises

88.2 (1) No landlord or person acting on a landlord's behalf may prohibit a tenant from displaying signs in relation to an election on the premises to which the lease relates. 2016, c. 15, s. 46.

Incredible announcement from @claudiasheinbaum.bsky.social. As Canada is gradually dismantling its universal health care system, largely in agreements that will force its permanent end, Mexico announces the arrival of universal health care for all Mexicans next year. Socialists bring the goods.

To be clear, it didn’t finish the stunt it was doing. It was out of thrust before it slammed onto the ground. Two of the thrusters are already out of juice in this picture of it still doing its twist

However I guarantee you that Chinese makers can supply Canada with as many new EVs as a fair and competitive market here could bear. There is absolutely no obstacle or difficulty in sending this country enough cars. Frankly, little more than sending them to Nepal

No? This is about the national regulatory environment. The fact the automotive retail sectors are very different has little enough to do with how to regulate out the enormous climate and air damage new vehicles continue to cause. Yes we’d need to move *slower* because the supply is less elastic.

Similarly, under current UK Equalities law jurisprudence, “male critical” beliefs, which deny the existence of men as a separate category from women (“there is only one gender”, in the classic formulation) are *also* protected. Your UK workplace cannot require you to recognize the existence of men.
