In the 1860s, chess player Howard Staunton produced a photo-facsimile of Shakespeare's First Folio. It was one of the earliest attempts to use new technology to reproduce an old book. @folger.edu has Staunton’s proof sheets. I looked at them last week. If you like media/books/history, they're fun.

my translation of a Wang Fanzhi 王梵志/"Brahmacarin Wang" poem:

i have a couple acres of land
plantings on the south mountain slope
four or five pine trees of my own
and two or three hills of beans as well.
when it's hot i just go for a dip in the pond
or take the cool breeze singing on the bank
i come and go as i please and i've got enough
so i'd like to see somebody try me now.

Microcosm botfrens.com/collections/69/content…
"Microcosm" by Remedios Varo portrays a surreal scene where celestial figures navigate the skies in fantastical ships tethered to an intricately designed structure below, surrounded by mystical forests. Varo's work often explores themes of mysticism, transformation, and the interconnectedness of all beings, vividly demonstrated through rich detail and imaginative landscapes.
