"We spent six years thinking about a fascist takeover of a galaxy far, far away. Six years thinking about ordinary beings as an authoritarian regime comes in for the kill. Many people saw parallels between Andor and the real world. I see them as well, particularly in the events of the last week."

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say. This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand. All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

Been a fan of the dystopian film ‘Equilibrium’ where emotions are outlawed. My one gripe has always been the realism concerning a society where that is a reality. Buuuut… this kind of crap makes it seem more and more realistic, every, single, day!

Recently acquired a new (to me) bandsaw that allows enough height for re-sawing planks. Combined woth my drum sander I made quick work of some Walnut I’ve been wanting to turn into an acoustic guitar or two!

A couple days after her wedding my daughter asked me if I could somehow preserve some of the flowers from her bouquet in resin. I consulted youtube and here’s what I came up with. The flowers had started to wilt somewhat but I think it still turned out pretty good. #resinart

Saw @jamesgunn.bsky.social Superman on Monday with my wife. Just got back from seeing it today with my adult daughter. Made me well up with tears several times at both showings. Love this take on big blue. Compassion and kindness should always win out! I guess I’m just a big mush too. 😊

The richest family in the United States, the Waltons, made money by not paying Walmart employees enough. This forced employees to seek government assistance for food and healthcare. Republicans’ response is to take away that assistance because the Waltons aren’t rich enough.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

Booker: "We have a president who did nothing as people stormed our Capitol, & then when those people who viciously beat police & led to some of their deaths - therefore cop killers - were convicted, he pardoned them. So for him to be talking about responsive law enforcement is hypocritical at best"
