need some diy help! My new integrated dishwasher is supposed to fit flush to the worktop. But that means the wooden door can't then have a lip over the edge of the inner metal door. If anything it has to come down a few mm so it's not quite covering it. That seems super weird?

Can you help me by completing a survey for a study on AI and charity content? It covers AI tool use, organisational support, and how you feel about AI. It's open to anyone who produces content as part of their role. You don't have to work for a charity. It takes 5–15 minutes tally.so/r/pbZqQP

THREAD. A collection of photos I have taken of excellent cats I have met on walks. You will find the captions to the photos in the alt text.
A cat on a wall, ranting relatably to me about the way modern TV documentaries are so frantically, pathetically worried about losing the viewer’s attention, employ endless precaps and recaps, lazily emotionally manipulate the viewer with overplayed songs and talk to that viewer as if that viewer is a small child, rather than a fully grown human, or cat.

My cat overlords treat me differently. Winston looks down on me and demands food. Abe traps me because for him to relax, he requires my leg to be his pillow and source of warmth.
Winston the orange cat is sitting on the top of the couch staring down at me, his minion. He wants food and isn't impressed I've prioritised taking a photo of him over getting up and actually feeding him. The cat food packets still don't open themselves!Abe the black cat is in a state of bliss not induced by catnip. He's snuggled himself up against my leg to steal my warmth, and he's using my calf as a pillow which effectively makes me trapped. Food, water and trips to the loo are only for those without cat overlords.

My new collection ‘Thin Places in Hard Concrete‘ is out on 30 April as an eBook and paperback with 10 brand new weird stories. Pre-order the eBook here 👉 www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DC5PL7T4
The cover of Thin Places in Hard Concrete with a floating brutalist staircase and a pale blue to purple gradient.A quote from Rose Ruane, author of Birding: “Ray’s books are masterpieces of uncanny atmosphere, claustrophobic, tautly plotted, exquisitely evocative prose, written with an artist’s eye for detail and architecture, an M.R. James or Robert Aickman of crumbling concrete and civic buildings. His incredible eerie tales of the urban weird will haunt you in the most welcome way.”

We don’t need AI to “be creative” for us; we need a world in which there is time and space to wonder, joke and play with words. To fuck around with color and texture, to experiment with an intriguing sound, without the need to immediately convert process and artifact into engagement to stay solvent.
