A snippet from a substack article titled "Mayor Spencer’s willingness to throw staff members under the bus is a reflection of her poor leadership"

The snippet reads "Spencer sought to avoid the consequences of her own mistakes and redirected the reporter’s inquiry to one of her cabinet members. This was the first instance of the mayor using one of her subordinates as a human shield for this story."

Mayor Cara Spencer has now twice used a staff member as a human shield for this story, and that is very representative of who she is as a leader.

My guess for tomorrow’s State of the City speech: Mayor Cara Spencer will announce her proposed regulations around AI data centers in the city. She’ll frame them as a big win for the community, but in reality, they’ll be toothless and unenforceable. Just lip service to keep benefitting developers.
