The dinner table talk last night with my offspring was about office work in the 1990s where while idly waiting this evening to collect my youngest from their Guitar Orchestra rehearsal made me search for some detail of my corporate past and uncovered this image. Yes, I'm the face in the bottom right

I had forgotten how brilliant running an after school Chinese calligraphy club was. 20 supremely enthusastic children aged 4 (yep! Reception) to aged 11 (Year 6). The photograph is of the writing by one of the younger learners.

Indeed @mrmict.bsky.social Think this is part of the identity crisis that Primary and Secondary Computing has. Schools expect to have tangible records of learning. However individual achievement, progress and challenge is different for everyone.

Allen Tsui @compscitsui.bsky.social · 26/04/2026

When you know, please share. Yes, I work across two schools within the MAT both Primary and Secondary are part of. Absolutely ❤️ providing free Computing workshops for other Primaries that look like this...

Hello again @gojauntly.bsky.social Able to achieve a 13km daily tally this week. Had I been able to continue at this pace (which I can't for work reasons) could have meant #2026kmIn2026 by early August...

By the way, I have of course signed up ready and raring for the @gojauntly.bsky.social 100 miles in May and 300km Mountain Warehouse May and June Challenge.

122

I have @gojauntly.bsky.social quite literally stepped up the pace over these last few glorious days of evening sunshine. Thank you for the 1.1 million tally. At this pace, I think I may complete 2 million by the end of June...

Hello again @rachelj47127149.bsky.social And yes, beautiful evening here in North London. Because it's Tuesday evening once again... ready in 45 minutes at 8.25pm...

I haven't even been able to change my shoes from just arriving home... Think it's my neighbour's way of questioning my timekeeping and evening supper plans...

You've jogged my memory too of this brilliant documentary I saw on Channel 5 back in 2018. Presented by historian, Dan Jones, the opening episode featured the waterway near Wolf Fields Primary which I think you might know. Brunel was inspired to compete against the canal system...

Thank you @richarddare.bsky.social for ❤️ my #morningmugshot post. Here's what I'm thinking: "by taking a competency based approach rather than measure of age related attainment means that every child has the opportunity to be recognised for some demonstrable level of success and achievement."

Thank you @mjfrancis.bsky.social for this wonderfully insightful reflection written for @theguardian.com back in 2013 and providing me a starting point for my Masters in STEM Education @kingscollegelondon.bsky.social

Yes. It is a beautifully sunny day outside. But everybody who is expecting me to go out with them is taking their own sweet time. So instead of scrolling around, going to read and write for a bit. Laters!

Allen Tsui @compscitsui.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

Indeed! And because of what Zieger and their team call the conditioning model to derive estimates of student's achievements, these PISA scores do not really follow a normal distribution. How's that for a Sunday morning reflection? #LiesDamnLiesStatistics

So yes @gojauntly.bsky.social The confetti of stars marking the half way tally for the #2MillionSteps tally means potentially reaching the total by the end of July. At almost 10km a day recently too, the #2026kmIn2026 could be achieved by early September. Have certainly stepped up a gear...
