A chilly NW breeze today. Sunshine xcp clouds in parts of N NB & off the Gulf; showers most likely CB Highlands. Fine sun cloud mix Sunday. Low teens returning. Monday, the Maritimes squeezed between rain from Isaiais to the south & a front sliding in from the north. Much of the say will be fine.

Finally in October, we have our first Atlantic Hurricane: Isaias. It wall make landfall on the Gulf (of Mexico) coast near the Florida Panhandle. The moisture will move off the Atlantic Mideast coast and pass well south of NS. Models do suggest a winter-type storm for the Maritimes on Wednesday???

Nice sunny start today. Late aftn cloudiness & scattered showers. Chilly and breezy on Saturday. Onshore showers most likely CB Highlands. Sunday looks to be a fine day. Hurricane Isaias makes landfall just east of Mobile AL this eve. Light rain from the weakened system may clip ATL coast NS Monday.

Isaias may become the first 2026 hurricane in the Atlantic basin. The remnants could bring a damp finish to Thanksgiving weekend here in the Maritimes. As of now, it appears the bulk of the rain will remain offshore, but much depends on the next few days + how it interacts with a Fall low moving in.

If you are outraged because of vaccines, you don't know the history before vaccines, either way, before vaccines, most children died in many families, over 50% of them, this is why over 60-80 yrs ago many families had over 10 children, vaccines saves lives. Diseases come back without herd immunity.
go to a cemetery and see all the baby graves there from before the 1950's and 60's, then hardly any afterwards, that's when people started vaccinating their kids. If you are unsure, the answer is literally written in stone

This is Charlie. He was found as a stray, limping on a broken leg. We covered the amputation he needed with your help, and he was adopted before he even made it to surgery! He went straight from the hospital to his forever home, where he was showered with lots of love ❤️‍🩹
Charlie, a brown-and-white mixed breed dog, is lying on a city sidewalk, wearing a green harness. He looks toward the camera as sunlight and building shadows fall nearby.
Charlie's adopters kneel on a city sidewalk in front of a building as they pose for a photo. They all smile while one of his dads holds a sign that read "I Adopted From Every Last One Rescue".
Charlie stands on a sidewalk with blue spray-paint graffiti on a concrete brick wall behind him that reads, "IT TAKES A VILLAGE". He looks off into the distance while smiling and standing strong on three legs.

September rainfalls show a transition from 50% of normal in NW NB to more than double normal in CBRM. Just patchy drizzle today, skies clear first in the west with a few 20's. Lots of 20's tomorrow and Friday to start October. A cold front passes with rain late Friday. First half October fairly dry.

El Niño is an absolute monster we have now surpassed the Super El Niño of 2015-2016 with peak expected in November-December 2026. We can’t truly know how significant the 1877-1878 El Niño was in equatorial Pacific clearly very significant, but this is at least strongest event in ~150 years.

Difficult to forecast the details. The overall patern has passing rain or drizzle largely over SW NS-NB today & Sunday. Otherwise the clouds are high & thin enough to see some sun. The rain likely more widespread Monday then tapers to showers/drizzle Tuesday and just spotty on Wednesday.

Clear & cool as the sun rises.. then warms up with 20C likely inland NB; possible in NS & PEI. The models inconsistent with the forecast of an ocean storm to our SW on the weekend. The CDN model (attached) is the most pessimistic: breezy & damp late Friday into Tuesday over much of the region.
