More than halfway through the heart of an Atlantic hurricane season that has been historically quiet. Only 6 named storms and not one hurricane - yet. This is the latest we've gone without a hurricane, at least in the satellite era (since 1966). It's all thanks to a still strengthening El Nino.

Another beautiful late summer day! Next system rolls in thru Thursday, with rain for Thursday night into Friday. We'll clear out for the weekend, however northerly winds will usher in cooler air in behind the system. Last official weekend of Summer will feel more like Fall across the Maritimes.

3rd straight day cracking 30°+ in Halifax!!! Hitting 30°C back to back to back is a rare feat here near the Atlantic coast. This is just the 6th time at the Shearwater site since 1944. Aug 30th to Sept 3rd (5 days) in 2010 was the warmest stretch & only run to go longer than 3 days. #nswx #halisky
