Or we’re going to have a big hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico that damages or forces shutdown of a lot of production, it’s been a very quiet hurricane season, so far.

What *does* make people flee states, cities, or countries though, is instituting policies that make them or their kids feel unsafe. How many people have fled red states because of anti-woman, anti-LGBT policies and laws?

These are very cool, they remind me in grandeur of the work of Michael Whelan and Simon Stålenhag. Not so much how they look or are executed, just the sense of vastness and mystery. That feeling of being part of a complete, alien world.

I broke the story yesterday that masked ICE agents (not DOJ) were removing items including a personal computer from the home of Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who shot Renee Good. I have yet to see a single news outlet cover this or an elected official even acknowledge it.

So, I assume that one of the inherent safety devices for current shipping is the fact that crews have licenses that can be revoked, especially officers and specialists? I foresee a decrease in human error mistakes *aboard these, but an increase in accidents due to greedy ownership decisions.

Having spent my youth in the rural Midwest of the 90s having this administration very much feels like having a tweaker for a room mate. “WHY did you steal all of the wiring from our garage and sell the copper??? No, I don’t care that the basement floor is clean enough to eat off of. WHERE’S MY CAR!?

Ppl who are not Venezuelan listen up: You will start hearing stuff about Venezuelans wanting this or participating or something. These are deranged claims. Make no mistake, the Venezuelan govt is corrupt and evil but this isn't it. This is just more evil happening on my country that helps no one.

Congress’ real decision to make should be “after we have impeached and convicted these people and seized their ill-gotten assets, do we send Donald Trump to prison for the rest of his miserable life, or do we exile him to Russia?” Congress needs to stop being spineless.

From the pictures these boats all seem to be what, 30’ long or less? I don’t know what kind of “facility” is needed to load a boat of that size and how blowing it up will help stop narcotics trafficking. You could load stuff into a boat that small anywhere.

Despite being a huge music lover and a theater kid I’ve never liked musicals as a a genre. For the most part they totally rub me the wrong way but holy crap Fiddler is so, so good as both. +1 on the movie, everyone is great, and Topol is amazing.

I agree with needing to skill people up, and our ongoing need for more skilled folks. it was mostly a response to the “we need alpha devs that can really grind out code because we’re going to grind them into dust just to ship more product of dubious quality” vibe that is everywhere in tech.

I feel like there is a lot of “your failure to plan != my emergency here”. It’s like saying “we need a lot more super ace pilots that can land overloaded jets that are out of fuel safely at airports that are closed due to weather” Or, you know we could invest in not letting it get to that point.

Pure whim. I’ve answered this question a number of times over the years, and the answer has always been the same: Some images in my head “feel” like oil paintings, others in acrylics. That’s the truth, though I don’t expect anyone to believe it. I can amend that just a bit here though. 1/2
