Cofnod #RecordOfTheWeek is this Odiellus spinosus Harvestman by SueH. Easily recognised by its chunky body, short legs and distinct trident on the front margin of its head! Very much a lowland species. @britishspiders.bsky.social @megabunus.bsky.social

Yes moving fast in the UK. Adding the additional verified "iRecord" and "iNaturalist" records to the SRS records suggests it could turn up anywhere in Southern Britain these days. Keep your eyes peeled!

Good coverage of spider recording in UK (lots of modern recording, particularly in England & Wales). Tetrad frequency roughly shows the most intensively recorded areas (unsurprisingly mostly centred on areas with high human population density). @britishspiders.bsky.social

Yeah - it's now widespread in the UK and breeding outdoors. Generally in Garden Centres, but also industrial parks and gardens. In some locations it's now the dominant spider!
