<div class="field field-field-text"><p>Israeli forces’ attacks caused 70.1 percent of the 24,650 deaths Gaza’s Health Ministry registered last year, according to its first official mortality report since 2022.</p>
<p>The under-five mortality rate more than doubled, reaching 33.4 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2025 compared with 13.6 in 2022. Excluding war deaths, the ministry put the rate at 15.8.</p>
<p>Heart disease accounted for 7.7 percent of recorded deaths, making it the second-largest cause. Males represented 73.4 percent of those who died and females 26.6 percent.</p>
<p>Gaza City accounted for the largest share of deaths at 37.3 percent. North Gaza followed with 20.2 percent, ahead of Khan Younis at 19.5 percent, the Middle Area at 12.3 percent and Rafah at 10.7 percent.</p>
