Fascinated by this local gym's flyer. She has the bar running under her shoulder strap! (Also, her thumbs are in the wrong position for a squat) #AIslop
Girl in a gym with a barbell on her back. The bar goes underneath her clothing's shoulder strap and seemingly into her neck. (Also her thumbs are technically in the wrong position for the squat.)

🚨Elsevier forces out Games and Economic Behavior (GEB) Editor, entire editorial board has resigned, current board only handling new submissions until Nov. 14 #econsky
    Dear Advisory Editor of GEB
We are very sorry to be the bearers of bad news for GEB.
I learned from Elsevier on Wednesday July 28 that, contrary to my expressed willingness to continue, my 3-year contract will not be renewed.
"Moving towards a closer alignment with Elsevier strategic priorities and publishing policies" was offered as the motive for this decision. Requests for explanations, first by me, then in a collective letter by the other six Editors, were dismissed by Elsevier which simply reaffirmed its legal power to make such decisions.
Elsevier then started precipitously its own search for new Editors without input of the Editorial Board.
By Friday August 14 all seven Editors have sent their resignation, requiring a 3-month advance notice.
Therefore, we will continue to manage as before the papers currently under review and the new submissions until Saturday November 14. After this date we will only complete the evaluation of papers still waiting an editorial decision.

What are the chances that Milei (Argentina's Trump) negotiated a deal for Argentina? Put differently, given FIFA's open corruption, it'd be surprising if he did NOT try this. This is how I see Argentina's many "miraculous" comebacks, e.g. against Egypt... www.republicworld.com/sports/footb...

I call Elon Musk a Nazi because he's an avowed white supremacist who undermines democracies, incites pogroms, targets minorities, intentionally caused the death of >750,000 people (so far) while laughing about it ("feeding USAID into the wood chipper"), and did a Sieg Heil at Trump's inauguration.

Conjecture: Whatever your definition of “good”, a good bottle of whisky is cheaper than two good bottles of wine
Let G be a set of items considered "good" according to a percentile-based criterion p(where ├ p∈(0,100]), such that G contains the top p% most expensive items in a given category.
For whisky and wine, let Wand V denote the sets of "good" whiskies and "good" wines, respectively, under the same percentile criterion p.
Then, for any w∈Wand any v∈V,
"price"(w)<2×"price"(v).

Yes, it's fascinating! The USA might be an outlier. In a follow-up paper for 1950-2010, the unit cost of finance seems to fall over time for other countries (FR, DE, IT, JP) but not for US. www.aeaweb.org/articles?id=...

USA: a relatively flat unit cost, for the other countries it falls.
Finance Value Added divided by bank loans is a crude indicator of cost per unit; less sophisticated than the “Unit cost of finance” indicator from Philippon (2015). Bank loans (the denominator) do not include all financial outputs.
