Per most recent figures, net migration to NI *over the past 22 years* has been ~62,000 people. Only 3% of Northern Ireland’s population currently belong to an ethnic minority. Pogroms in Belfast (as with Ballymena last year) are just gutter-level "One Is One Too Many" racism, and nothing else.

In January, Zohran Mamdani took action against bankrupt landlord Pinnacle, which was responsible for over 5,000 housing violations. Thanks to his intervention, Pinnacle's new owners have forgiven millions in tenants' back rent. This is what governing for the people looks like.

If you're not represented by the national rep orgs or unions, then unionise & create your own org, & plan a properly run protest. Instead we see these selfish men with big vehicles thinking they deserve to block the roads even though prices are going up for everyone. 2/ #IrishPol

The amount of events and festivals around the country using genAI for their promotional images is slightly maddening. All about supporting local, except their local artists.

Just a heads up with all the Christmas markets and fairs on at the moment - if you see art or art-based pieces for sale, ask who the artist is, because the amount of people deceptively slapping "made locally" on pieces locally farted out by their computer and a genAI prompt is getting depressing

Every far-right riot and protest that was tolerated, every racist dog whistle from public reps, every bit of hate and misinformation allowed to spread by social media companies, all led to this moment in Drogheda last night where someone felt emboldened enough to try to burn children alive.

No mariner leaves someone in the water who can be rescued without endangering his or her own vessel. And when you get to the RNLI, that won’t stop them, either. The most fundamental law of the sea is - *you do not leave people drown.* And every, *every* decent mariner knows that to the bone.

The anti-apartheid Dunnes strike lasted 2 years 9 months. The women were relentlessly smeared and denounced by Dunnes, the govt, the "business community" and the Catholic hierarchy. They were routinely harassed by Gardaí. They had nothing to live on but union strike pay. They were right and they won

I really think it says a lot about Ireland that you used to hear terms like "starter home" and "getting on the property ladder"and they've basically disappeared
